imschur Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 The boss at work decided I needed to have a company phone which is on At&t. Unfortunately back in September I had to buy out of contract, from Apple an iPhone 5s 32gb for the Verizon network. Boss tells me the phone is still worth quite a bit. The phone is pristine as it has been in an otterbox defender since birth. Anyone know what i need to do to the phone to sell it? Im assuming a factory reset. Also is there a good non ebay place to sell it? I spent $901.85 on 9/22/2013 so I would not mind getting some cash back.

392heminut Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Drew, y Unfortunately back in September I had to buy out of contract, from Apple an iPhone 5s 32gb for the Verizon network. He bought a new iPhone 5 for $10 and they weren't even available in the states yet! Somebody is making a schitload of money off of the American consumers!
shibiwan Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Screw it! Stick it on eBay. Let the market determine the price! Edited April 2, 2014 by shibiwan
Microgunner Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Is the boss picking up the tab on the new phone including monthly service? Will the boss be able to monitor your usage of the new phone? Is this a spying technique? Maybe you should consider keeping your old service in addition to the company phone. shibiwan Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Ask him for a partial stipend for the phone instead. :)
Robocop1051 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Jail break the phone and convert it to ATT
imschur Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 He paid for the phone and the monthly for mine, the old ladies and the mobile broadband for her ipad. Ive been shelling out $170 a month for this. I have no family and friends so I use the phone mostly as a pda. Nothing to spy on really. I been here 28 years and he's also my landlord and boss for my property management gig.
Microgunner Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Cool. Does your iphone 5s use a SIM card?
imschur Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 Ive read the 5s can work on other carriers where earlier iphones could not. It does have a sim card slot Cool. Does your iphone 5s use a SIM card?
Microgunner Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I've found through the pawn business that any GSM (SIM card) phone can be unlocked.
imschur Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 I think Verizon was forced to change beginning with the iPhone 5. Previously they were locked to Verizon.
planeflyer21 Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 They (the communications industry) lobbied so that nobody could unlock anything. Read an article a couple of months ago that they were working on changing that in congress but no idea if it passed.
98Z5V Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I've found through the pawn business that any GSM (SIM card) phone can be unlocked. Very true.
