edgecrusher
The above was stated with the notion "I don't give a fuck about the guy in the next lane at the range" You don't like noise? Don't shoot guns!
survivalshop
Its a gun range , there's supposed to be noise from a firearm going off . <dontknow>
Rsquared
I agree. I use AAC brakes and comps. I try to be nice, and warn guys that they might wanna sit a few lanes down when there's room. But if they don't..........fuckem! As Edge and SS said. It's a gun range. Deal with it.
Magwa
DPMS LR308 C the 16 inch barrel will still give you all the long range you want and it really cuts down on weight I have done a few mods to mine ,it shoots sub MOA and without a fully loaded mag weighs right at 8 lbs. the recoil on a 308 is not much of a concern to begin with so I would not worry about that, In fact i never ever thought mine kicked much at all but I did add a ACC brakeout and it works awesome..... my rifle is a hunting gun I have taken elk ,deer, with it and i can carry it all day without being fatigued by it..... it is all the rifle you will need and you can mod it to whatever you want.. Sisco
If you want reasonable weight and excellent accuracy. Take a look at this link. Down side: Armalites do use a proprietary magazine. Upside, you are getting a match grade barrel and a National Match 2 stage trigger with it. Weight 8.7 Lbs without a full magazine or optics. Best all around rifle I have. And a heck of a price right now. http://www.cdnnsports.com/armalite-ar10-a4-308win-16-sts-vltor-stk-package.html#.U5MsFNq9KK0
shibiwan
ewwwww armalite. (OK now I gotta hide from our Armalite pusher <laughs> )
Sisco
The day I depend on one brand is the day I have let somebody's advertising get to me. Check the other prices on that link, and right now, nobody else in the 308 market comes close for the different features and models being offered. Don't know why the discounts, but that translates to more money for ammo and reloading components, which equals more shooting. And I am all for that. BangPewBang
thanks for all the advice guys! I haven't been round the computer much lately. Should have posted something earlier, but the reason being I picked up my rifle and have been out shooting the last couple days. Ended up going with the DPMS 308 recon. It came stock with some of the features I was going to end up purchasing on some of the other rifles I was looking at so it was a given. I found it for a pretty dang good price too. Ive been very happy with it so far. Recoil is super light IMO, Im used to bolt guns though. I don't really notice the weight. Its very well balanced. I zeroed the flip sights in today at 50 meters. Standing off hand with some heavy wind I was getting 2 to 3 inch groups, off of some bags (still with heavy wind) I was getting 3/4 inch groups. Hopefully I'll get her out to a 100 here in the next few days, and eventually I'll put some glass on it and see how she does out past that. Lastly, I had read a lot of reviews about the DPMS trigger being heavy and sloppy. I was actually pretty pleased. It is a little heavy but honestly not that bad and to me its very smooth. A lot of people have referred to the trigger pull as "sloppy" or "gritty". I maybe got a diamond in the rough or people over exaggerate. Either way. I am super happy on my purchase. I will put up a review on it once I get it good and broken in and get it out to 100 and + yards.
