@desertdust You did the right thing by asking before buying the first thing that seems to be a good price. It sounds like your armorer is knowledgeable about 308ARs. That is a good thing. Daniel Defense and Aero are both DPMS patterned if I recall correctly.

That is absolutely cool. Most of us would love to have the ability to shoot at distances like that without traveling to a range. A 223 hitting at 1000 yds is a great shot, even 1 out of 10.

The difference is that the AR15 has military specifications based on the M16. All manufacturers make them to the same specs. Some are better than others. The AR10 was proposed to the military but was never formally adopted, so there is no "mil-spec" that was followed. Each manufacturer can, and does, make modifications that they think improve the design or, in some cases, can keep people buying proprietary parts. Again, please give a review of the product if you can.

I'm sure you could load some that are "kind of warm" like your 10mm loads.

All AR10s are 308ARs but all 308ARs are not AR10s. AR10 is an Armalite trademark as well as one of the general patterns for 308ARs. We try to specify the difference since there are many parts that are not interchangeable. We try to avoid having people buy the wrong parts. @desertdust As far as your original question, it doesn't appear that anyone on the forum has used the brand. It would be great, if you get one, for you to give a review of the product so that others could learn from you (or from your friend's gun). That is how we all learn and can instruct others when they ask.

I believe that @Belt Fed has a couple of them. You can do pretty much anything you have stated with a good 16 inch barrel. A Larue MB2 is a great trigger and worth more than the $87 they ask.

Larry and Mayra were extremely hospitable to my wife and I on the way to our first fall shoot. They were the first "real" meeting of 308ar folk. They are as wonderful as all others I have met as well as those I have not met in person...yet. We have not heard from @308kiwi in a while but I hope to have an intercontinental meeting at some time. I missed the international meeting this time but plan on changing that next year.

You will have little meaningful ballistic advantage with an 18" barrel. But you will have the extra weight. The big question is: What are going to use the rifle for? You will get a better recommendation with that information.
