thank you for the details! Usually it takes 3 pages to get all of that out of someone. That much info also saves us from recommending stuff you've already tried, which actually looks like a pretty good list of attempts. I have no experience with those mags you're using. To help rule them out I would attempt to try a few other brands and see what happens. Got any local buddies with mags you could borrow?

I guess you'd have to be there. Small holes. Shovels do the big work, knife is for the finer holes.

Need a new folder. Been carrying CRKT M16-13T for a while now. I've had about 5 different flavors of the same knife. May just replace it with another, but open for options. I prefer the drop point and my knives get abused regularly. I do a lot of digging in the dirt while looking for property corners. That's why I go with the partial serrated and still have the ability to cut through things as the straight is usually fairly dull.

Have you cycled live UNfired ammo through it? Lube it up, load a magazine with 5 rounds and charge it, then extract and load the next round until the mag is empty. I'm just curious to hear how it does with that and how it feels.

You've gotta have a gas issue. The chamber may be rough, and the headspace is worth checking, but it sounds like you're not getting gas. Re-check that the gas block is on correct, check the gas tube at the block, take a photo looking into the open upper showing how far your tube extends into the upper receiver. Did you assemble the upper, what parts make up the whole system? Barrel, gas block, tube...etc. the more details you share, the more likely one of the gurus will immediately spot the issue.
