  1. So, we need to raise wild fish in the pond?
  2. Been researching aquaponics as well. Still haven't heard back on our official offer for the property we're after. Had a verbal agreement on price, but we added a couple strings in the offer letter to cover our rears...might be screwing up the deal. There's enough room on this place for a manmade lake, or at least a large pond. Neighbor had a well producing 250 gallons a minute (that's gotta be one hell of a pump, or a few of them). If that's the case and we have that kind of water...I'll throw a solar pump on it and any excess during the day can flow to the pond.
  3. Awesome news. Any progress is good progress. Keep moving forward.
  4. Yep, didn't have an awesome job offer in Idaho. Though I'd take one...I'm not leaving California for something almost as bad.
  5. I completely agree with you Rob. We should each take care of our own "village". As a child I was raised helping family, friends, members of our parish, and friends of any of those. They were people we knew, or people that knew people we knew. Soup kitchens and blind handouts were there, but not very often. Most effort was kept within "our village". Proximity played no role...just people. Everybody helped everybody, even the ones who couldn't physically help back. They usually found someway to repay the favor to someone else in the village. I try to show my boys the same system and I can't wait to move out of the wasteland I'm in right now and get my family into a small community in the hills so they can really see how people should live. I've been on this street for 13 years and barely know my immediate neighbor's. The homeless population here is out of control and the drugged out welfare recipients are everywhere. That's why I can easily get in on this one. You say these folks need a hand, I can give a little. Like I said, I wish it was more, but I do what I can. Had this been a link from someone in another village, I likely would sit out. It's a terrible situation and I feel for the boy and his family. Without the link to our village, it's just another sad story and unfortunately they can't all be helped. I hope everything works out for the best for these folks in the end and this is soon just a crummy memory.
  6. It's a side effect of living in California. Liberalism is extremely contagious.
  7. I like the electronic HL I have, but for some damn reason I cannot use them when shooting a rifle and resort to the squishies. I am assuming I'm doing something wrong as far as how I shoot, though my dad has the same issue. Is it possible that we just have a bad combination of physical features...or is it as I expect and it's just incorrect form?

  11. Nice work blue.
  12. I don't think we're headed that way. Still trying to get an official offer going on a chunk of land in the maintains here. I'll share more on that if we wind up in escrow.
  13. That's a woman?
  14. Are you trying to talk me into it?
  15. It's funny you should say that. I got thrown a very similar offer Wednesday. Old company I was at opened an office in Denver a few years ago. Saw the engineer running it and he needs someone to come out and head up a survey department. We didn't talk numbers and it was in no way a formal offer, but it makes us think. My wife still works for that company at the main headquarters here in SAn Diego and he would take her too for Accounting. Why Colorado? Damnit.
  16. And if you try really hard tomorrow...you can get two checks!
  17. Matt and Doc...you guys are just bad ass!
  18. I thought I as J***A*** Jack Asss for a minute, because that went on not long after I paypal'd. I was only a little upset. Then I saw the next update with my name, along with the Arse Hole....he's just mean.
  19. Nobody buys it you big pussycat.
  20. Wish I could do more. I'd love to get in on the bid for the Point, but that's way too rich for me at the moment. That thing looks beautiful...and if the photo doesn't do it justice, it's gotta be amazing. Hope that little guy pulls off a full recovery. Can't even imagine how hard it is for the whole family right now and it's awesome to see the generosity of the all of you here. Thank you Robo for the opportunity to lend a hand and to all of you who kick in whether it be dollars, get well wishes, or prayers. You all rock.
  21. Anybody have contact info? If I wind up in need of a caretaker somewhere in the next ten years...I'd like to have her listed in my plan
  22. Yes. Way easy to remove. At least on an AR.
  23. Thank God that dam drought is over.
