  1. Plain and simple, the one thing the second amendment guarantees the people is the right to own “assault weapons”. Period. Well regulated militias are not hobbyists, hunters, or antique collectors.
  2. He did leave a 30 day stay on it so it can be appealed. And then sit on the shelf forever like the rest of them.
  3. A judge in California who just found CA’s assault weapon ban unconstitutional said in his statement the an the term assault weapon is a misnomer. They could just as easily be called home defense rifles, or anti crime rifles.
  4. So, was the barrel that shot your reloads well a different twist rate? That was the question I had.
  5. Yes, but more importantly...what are the stats of the rifle you were getting “not poor” groups from your reload with? I thought we went over the bullet weight issue in another thread, but maybe that was someone else. If you’re the one with a 1:10 barrel, you aren’t likely to get good groups with lighter bullets.
  6. That gas tube is why it doesn’t cycle at all. Right gas tube will solve 99% of your issue. With that length, it doesn’t even meet up with the BCG. Was that shot of it at the gas block the way it was mounted?? It’s not even into the gas block... and 98 is spot on with his gas port sizes. While you’re waiting on the right gas tube, you should drill that port up a hair.
  7. what brand is the barrel? When you remove that gas block, look at the gas port and you should see a carbon ring around it. This will tell you if the block was centered over the hole. If it’s not moving at all, I think you have an issue between the gas block or the gas tube. Take a picture of the inside of the upper. Similar to the one above in the link to the water boarding thread. Where does your gas tube land in the upper? It helps to have all the details you can spare. If I read your post right, it did not move with either BCG you’ve had in there, correct? So we can probably rule it out. Chamber could be an issue, but I’m leaning towards ruling out the gas system first.
  8. The flash suppressor should have little to no involvement on the gas system. Not sure how this changed anything for you in that regards. Again, check the tube, get rid of that adjustable block and out a cheap fixed block on to test it. As mentioned, your recoil system will need to be hashed out. I’ll look to your other thread to see if there are more clauses in there, but if you can find the “water boarding” thread...that’s a great place to start so you get the idea of what folks are after.
  9. Oh crap. Sorry for the unrelated post, but this was beautiful. Thank you for that. I’m a land surveyor and I’ve done a lot of construction layout, and a fair handful of steel erected projects....this is so damn funny because I’ve heard this on half of the sites. “It was. We cut it.” ...still has me laughing. Everything is wrong, nothing is their fault and nobody has a damn set of plans.
  10. Was it cycling before the flash suppressor change? Check that the gas tube is installed properly and hasn’t come free. I watched a working gun stop working when a gas tube roll pin broke and released the tube. Check that you haven’t changed something on the adjustable block. Do you shoot suppressed?
  11. Truth
  12. Sometimes we get lucky and they aren’t too bad.
  13. You didn’t put the compensator on with a cheater bar and work it open and closed to achieve index...did you?
  14. Your smarts are showing again...quick, Say something about meal dots.

    98's 6mm ARC

Looks like a damn good time. I’m jealous.
  16. What ammo. You mentioned it could be an issue. What are you shooting for these tests? Your scope mounting could play a large part in it. Why reject a barrel that isn’t right??...because I just paid fair money for a product that isn’t right. If I bought it as a blem, I could understand.

Apparently he knows something we don’t. I was told it’s us smartphone users that can’t figure it out.

I’m just curious how you even got that...did you have to drive over to his place, snap a pic, wait at the one hour photo shop and then scan it to the hard drive?

Well, I hope the trash talking was good at least. You guys make some new friends?
  21. I bought a wheeler scope mount kit a long time ago off of a DVOR sale. It’s been awesome to have and the screwdriver in it works great for scopes. It comes with a lapping kit as well. I mounted the vortex on my 308 bolt and sighted it in. I haven’t touched it since. @edgecrusher took it out to the longer range...I warned him it hadn’t been adjusted in a while and apparently it was still holding pretty damn well. I think following the torque specs and taking the time lapping and setting up were worthwhile.
