  1. Another aspect is another large Tax , not only for the Tax income , but another way to keep people from becoming or staying in business as a FFL in Gunsmithing , by having an outrages licensing fee. That in its self is a prospective lawsuit for discrimination , of some sort . I remember after getting into boating , the State of Ohio came out with a fee to own a boat , it was regulated by length of the boat by foot , I think it was something like $ 10 per ft.. It was challenged & over turned in court & found it was discriminatory because it was directed solely against pleasure boaters . My point is , making a Gunsmith a Manufacturer because they cut a dovetail into a pistol slide , when the legislated description of a Manufacturer contradicts this Exc. order , should be enough to get it stuck down .
  2. This is for my account since I'm on SS. ,as anyone else on SS . if you don't have cell phone with text messaging , you will have to call & wait for days to check your account if there is an issue , I haven't went in mine for years , as long as I get my $$ deposited , no need .
  3. This will not hold up in court , just hope it goes through a 2nd amendment fed. judge . The cocksucker has only a couple of months left & he will do a lot more , Im sure !
  4. It seems now that to log into my SS account , I need to give my cell phone # , so they can text me that I'm accessing my account. WTF They say its an Executive order to protect my info . Starting in August 2016, Social Security is adding a new step to protect your privacy as a my Social Security user. This new requirement is the result of an executive order for federal agencies to provide more secure authentication for their online services. Any agency that provides online access to a customer’s personal information must use multifactor authentication. When you sign in at ssa.gov/myaccount with your username and password, we will ask you to add your text-enabled cell phone number. The purpose of providing your cell phone number is that, each time you log in to your account with your username and password, we will send you a one-time security code you must also enter to log in successfully to your account. Each time you sign into your account, you will complete two steps: Step 1: Enter your username and password. Step 2: Enter the security code we text to your cell phone (cell phone provider's text message and data rates may apply). The process of using a one-time security code in addition to a username and password is one form of “multifactor authentication,” which means we are using more than one method to make sure you are the actual owner of your account. If you do not have a text-enabled cell phone or you do not wish to provide your cell phone number, you will not be able to access your my Social Security account. If you are unable or choose not to use my Social Security, there are other ways you can contact us. To learn more, please review the Frequently Asked Questions found here.
  5. As long as its a 308 Buffer system, it will not make a difference , I run two Tubb's springs ,one in a Carbine 308AR & one in a Rifle 308AR system , two different weight Buffers & lengths , but same Tubb's spring , because the same Tubb's 308AR spring is used for both Rifle & Carbine Systems . The Carbine is a little more difficult to install then in a rifle system , but not all that bad . The 308 has plenty of Gas signature & as long as the Gas Port in the Barrel is of the correct size , shouldn't be an issue .
  6. So that's history , whats your point ? I know the AR10 is the mostest, bestest , rifle in the world , I can tell your one of the puritan Armalite owners , all others are scrap knock off's , strange DPMS LR rifles have about 87% of the market on that type of rifle , its why Armalite changed their proprietary design to the DPMS/SR-25 magazine design. I don't have a mule to kick in this , I like all the 308AR's , I don't bow to one or another . The poster didn't ask for a lecture of a magazines origins or who made the first one , he just asked what Mag fit his rifle ,a simple question . lx2008 If you can find them , Lancer L7 mags are top of the heap in my book , check them out , they are expensive & sometimes hard to find . http://www.lancer-systems.com/advanced-weapons-components-2/products/magazines-2/l7-advanced-warfighter-magazine/
  7. Nothing wrong with the DPMS GII from what reviews we get here , only issue if you could call it one ,is what it does to the Primer upon firing , not dangerous , just cups them & is probably from over sized firing Pin hole in the Bolt . Another thing is not too many customizing components for them as of yet , but as more are owned , that will change . Building will always be more expensive then purchasing a complete rifle & changing what you want down the road . Mega , Areo & DPMS are all good Receivers to build with . Read up on builds here if you haven't already .
  8. Welcome from Florida
  9. Lazy , not quite , the statement is accurate , until Armalite came out with the AR10A model, just a year or so ago & no one is taking anything away from Mr.Stoner !
  10. Sling is not completely adj. yet , have to double loop sling through Buckle so it will not ever move . Front is attached to an Uncle Mike quick detachable swivel on the JP 's VTac Hand Guard supplied Swivel stud , will be replaced with something attached to the 4" Rail I mounted under the front of the Hand Guard , where a BiPod will also go. MagPul Paraclip with cross bar lock Double security loop
  11. Maybe we should post it to new introductions , so they can't say WTF ,never read that .
  12. Ya, don't take as you did anything wrong , we jab new members with this rule all the time , its more fun then a rule to me & no one would really expect you to buy a rifle just to see if you like it I have never heard of this company or manufacturer , they have been springing up like weeds in the last couple of years , now you are going to make us look . I looked & its difficult to see what they actually manufacture , the one sight I looked at , looks like they sell PWS rifles & other components , also read about there shop services , the owner has a good resume , from what I read .
  13. I thought Jeb was a good Gov. when I got here too !
  14. They don't think they need those Gangsta sights on the side .
  15. Lookout the one from Brownells first . Videos of how to use a magpul ms1 sling
  16. Yes , size does matter !
  17. I would still use corresponding components , I have read quite a bit that there are differences in the two bolts ( AR10/DPMS ) dimensionally ,the AR10 being beefed in the lug area , but as MikedaddyH posted , if your starting from scratch , a good Smith should be able to head space both of them . The last process is aligning the gas Port on the Barrel with the Barrel's extension Pin, this alignment is crucial .
  18. I have the same misgivings on the QD swivel mount , but have no experience with them , so it may be just that I haven't tried them & really don't know . The Tubb's flat wire spring is far superior to any round spring , I have one in the 18" & it runs smooth , recoil is smooth also . There are some , including ( Clint ) from Heavy Buffers doesn't believe in them , but a lot of us here use them & have compared them to regular springs . I use one in my 16" 308AR also , drops the brass about two foot out & at 3 o'clock , every one of them , nice little pile . There are many videos on the MOE stock & also on the Magpul MS1 , its a mule mission sling , I used one Hunting in a single point configuration with my 870 Mag, DSG with the Magpul stock & it worked great , but I like to sling my rifle , cross the body on my back to clime into tree stands or going up rough country , where you wouldn't get a shot any way , because you have t have both hands climbing from tree to tree & I carrie a day pak . Luckily the MS1 , as a Multi mission sling can be quickly converted to a two point sling & I changed it . For still hunting the single point is great though . I have to take that photo of the sling . LC is what I use , once fired , probably from a Machine gun , but works just fine for me for over thirty years . Speed & high pressure , I have found are not your most accurate ammo loading in most rifles . Just look in the reloading section & look at the ES & SD do with higher loadings , there is always a sweet spot with any combo . New brass is nice though & I like Starline . I also Anneal my brass every loading .
  19. Its like that one extra part for an AR you have laying around & turns into a complete rifle . Same with ammo , you got the ammo now build or buy a pistol around it .
  20. For hunting loads in 7mm08, 308 & 30'06 , 4064 is all I use , all hand weighed charges & all that I load for , I have their rifle for weeks , working a load for that particular rifles Barrel . Every one , every single one , likes different combo of factors , be it COL , Primer or Bullet in some cases .Seems the Hornady SST is the favorite of the Hunter's, as far as taking game . I have loaded Barnes , Nosler & others & all said , they prefer the SST loads . 139gr. SST for the 7mm08 , Bolt actions . 150gr. SST for 30 cal. , Bolt actions & Browning BAR rifles Just relaying hunter experience from the field ,most of my experience with gun hunting has been with 12 ga, slug guns , so I have to go by what input I get from those I load for . Every barrel , to me , is different & what load your rifle likes may be different .
  21. Is there something special about your Barrel that you want to supply a Barrel Extension separate from the Barrel ? Most just purchase the Barrel with an Extension on it already by the Barrel Manufacturer. Like 99.9% do . I have not had an issue with Head Spacing any Bolt from a complete Barrel assembly , some may be tight when using a NIB coated Bolt until a period of break in , but I've never had an issue with a Barrel with the Extension applied & HS checked by a reputable Barrel Manufacturer . I would say there is a difference , its why just about everyone uses a matching Bolt to one or the others Barrel Extension . Its pretty common practice to use a DPMS 308 Bolt with a DPMS Barrel & a Armalite AR 10 Bolt with a AR 10 Barrel assemblies . I would be concerned with tolerance stacking with Bolt fitment & its an easy thing to just use the matching manufacturers components .
  22. Have you looked at a Magpul MS1 sling or a Vickers sling or a bunch of others that are out there , limp they aren't . I just installed one on the MOE stocked 18", I'll take a photo of it in the AM . As Blue posted , there are many ways to put a sling attachment on all Magpul stock systems , systems is the term, because they are so adaptable . I also think you will find that that sling attachment slot on the MOE will be more comfortable with they way you plan on using the sling , look at the angle of the sling when its in a shooting position & you will see its at an angle , not straight in line with the A2 swivel ,but if you are set on the A2 , go for it , its a good stock . Loading hot 308 ammo , you can only push brass so far & we have all been there or at least I have with test loads & my 20" with A2 stock & all DPMS 308 rifle Buffer system had no problem with the loads . A Tubb's flat wire spring would be more beneficial then a Heaver Buffer, IMO . Again , you will not go wrong with a Heavy Buffers ,Buffer , Clint has a good product .
  23. The rifle 308 Buffer is heavy enough . There are so many ways of attachment of a sling on the MOE , far more then an A2 . I don't understand why you can't use the one thats on the MOE stock . The sling loop around the stock will just be a little shorter . But hay go for the A2 , the MOE is much more comfortable , has a better check weld area , the Rubber Butt Pad swings open for larger area for storage .
  24. Anyone get theirs yet ? I did today , now I'm legal
