  1. I knew I had this somewhere & have posted it before . This may be incomplete & I don't see a Mid length for the AR 10 , but there may be one . If anyone see's any thing incorrect , please let me know . I remember researching for this a bit ago . GAS TUBE LENGTH's Pistol--- 4.5" Carbine - 7.5" Mid.----- 9.5" Rifle ----- 13" Armalite lengths, Rifle ( 308 ) ----- 15.5 " Carbine ( 308 )--12 1/16" super SASS Carbine ( 308 )--11" Super SASS< Rife (308 ) ? Mid ,( 223 )------------------ 11 3/4" Carbine ( 223) --------------- 9 3/4 " Rifle ( 223 ) ------------------- 15 3/16" National Match--------------- ? This is from the Armalite Tech. section, they are calling it a Mid length Carbine ? GAS TUBE LENGTH •M-15 rifle – 15-3/16” •M-15 mid length carbine – 11-3/4” •M-15 shorty carbine – 9-3/4” •AR-10 rifle – 15-1/2” •AR-10 mid length carbine – 12-1/16” All gas tubes: .180 OD and .117 ID .
  2. Sounds like a Case sizing or Trimming issue . The MilSpec brass will be thicker in the web in the Base of the Case , but all else with the case should be same dimensions . Note also that with the thicker MilSpec Case base , it will boost chamber pressure up compared to the Commercial Brass & coupled with other factors could cause extraction issues . You can also try a Small Base Sizer Die on the milSpec brass , maybe the case is expanding where the Full Length Sizing Die can't reach , if thats what your using . Has Head Space been checked ? Does the rifle function normally with factory Ammo ?
  3. The Rifle length for sure , not sure on the Mid length , any one measure one .
  4.  You have T-shirts ?

  5. AR 10 Barrel Nut has different thread pitch & the two are not inter changeable . Measuring or comparing a DPMS to an AR 10 will not help , AR 10 uses a different length in the gas systems , I believe . The trick to get a proper fitting part is to remove only enough material for proper fitment , a little at a time till it fits .
  6. If they made the Bolt so that only their proprietary parts would fit it & not make any replacements , why would anyone purchase their product . Should use std Gas rings or the Mcfarlin type , be it a 5.56 or 308 .
  7. Don't do FB , but that's OK , I will order a couple when I look at your new colors & make a decision on if I like them or your normal colors .
  8. Will it bend to shoot around tree's now ? ?
  9. Didn't Lancer just come out with one for the 308AR's ? http://www.lancer-systems.com/advanced-weapons-components-2/products/octagon-handguard/
  10. For someone to even think its OK for a man dressed in woman's clothing ,to enter or use a women's rest room , to me is incomprehensible . How can someone ,gay or not , think its good for Humanity or Socially acceptable , they are the Deviates of the world & they are trying to bring us down to their level . The entertainment industry has a lot to do with this crap , they are a big part of the 4 %. I do hate most of the Entertainment industry , they are a big part of the Social Engineering project . This is going to blow up soon , if it keeps up ! Probably part of their plan .
  11. You should take the same amount off each end, not just one end . Check it with the Delta ring assembly removed , you will get a better picture over all , if it can be done & you feel comfortable doing it .
  12. Sounds like your asking about Carbon Fiber Hand Guards .
  13. That was a multi whoops !
  14. Welcome from Florida .
  15. I believe DPMS has built rifles using the A2 Hand Guards , not sure if a Mid Length , but they have used them .
  16. It is not only the Barrel Nut , but as said , the Upper receiver . & how the Barrel Extension fits into it , which may or may not set the Barrel nut away from the Upper more , making the gap or distance to the Gas Block less then an AR 15. If you want to use those HG's on that Rifle , you will need to fit them , as most of us are saying , some do get lucky , probably depending on what manufacturers Upper Receiver your using . Fitment should not be a problem , just by looking at your photo's . Most of the AR Hand guards can be used with the round or triangular front Cap . Have you tried the round one ? Measure the max distance between the AR 15 with Md gas system & Barrel Nut , then your 308AR's system & you will see why they don't fit so easily . I would remove the Barrel Nut & remove the Delta ring assembly & reinstall the Barrel Nut & test fit the Hand Guards with out the Delta Ring in the way & it will give you a better feel of where to remove material & where , on the Hand guard . I would start with the front of the HG in the Front Cap & see what it will take to get the HG to sit over the Barrel Nut properly , you may need to remove material from the front & rear of the Tabs that insert into or over the Barrel Nut & Front end Cap . A Dremel Tool can be your friend & you might be surprised that it will not take as much as you think for them to fit . Also mind the Heat Shields , they can interfere with fitment also .
  17. Read about a dog that passed the other day , was thirty years old , lived on a farm all his life . That's just crazy unheard of.
  18. She is also missed by her younger friend . r
  19. Not sure how your Barrel nut looks like , but here is the AR 15 Barrel Nut. Your asking why are the Barrel Nuts different , the 308AR has to be larger because of the larger 308 Barrel"s Chamber area , its larger dia. & length , of course & your trying to fit AR 15, 5.56 Hand Guards to a proportionally different 308AR . I don't think I have heard of anyone installing AR 15 Hand Guards to a 308AR , that didn't need fitment . I know the last set of Mid length I installed on an AR 15 were a bitch to put on & I struggled with them for quite some time to get them on.
  20. Is that a drawing of your Barrel Nut ?
  21. That loose gas key sure wasn't helping with test firing , that one potential issue out of the way.
  22. That also ! I've had that feeling with some , even before they are dirty .
  23. When you no longer see the next muzzle blast , you know its time to clean them . ?
  24. It could be several things , but manually charging the action & a fired round doing it are not the same . ( 1 )Try one round in the mag & fire the one round & see if the Bolt is held back on last round ( this tells you a lot about the function of the Action ).Then put two in , test fire & then three rounds , If there are issues , they should show up & take a photo of the malfunction , if you can safely . ( 2 ) if it hasn't been mentioned you , run the BCG wet , wet . ( 3 ) You will need to make sure your Gas Block is where it should be , blowing down the barrel is not a fool prof way of knowing if its correctly orientated .I don't remember any issues with a Mega Barrel , as far as Gas Port size , but we have had a few other brands that have short changed the 308's gas delivery capabilities . Still it would not hurt to know the Port size . ( 4 ) I have no experience with the Red Barn stuff , so your on you own as being the tester of their BCG . Glad you used a Receiver set from the same manufacturer , eliminates a lot of potential issues . You have a build with multiple manufacturers components , some may be proprietary , so may take some fitment & in some cases a different manufacturers replacement component , to get the action to work reliably . Sounds like another 308AR build to me .?
