I sent two 20 rd. ,Gen. 3 LR Mags back to Magpul after emailing them with my problems with them & photo's of the problem , or should I say the width problem & got a return #. The mags were hard to insert & even worse to remove & having them loaded was even harder to remove them when trying to clear the rifle from malfunction . Which I think had some thing to do with these two Mags. . I say this because I have two 25 rd. Gen. 3's that work just fine .Not only do they work fine , but they work fine in my infamous CMMG lower Receiver , that will not work with any first gen. PMag . I was impressed that they had made changes in the Gen. 3's as far as how they sit in the Mag well a little higher then the first Gen. LR PMags . With these mags that fit too tight , I had failure to feed as I did with the first Gen mags & when the 25 rounders worked , I figured the two 20 rd. mags fitting tight was probably why they were not working . Well , the Mags came in from FedX this morning , well I should say ,two new mags came today & they fit just fine , now I have to function test them in my CMMG Lower . I see no reason why they shouldn't work , the 25 rounders have no issues . So , thanks for the Magazine replacements , Magpul , I will put them to the test . I have one other thing to say ,but it doesn't have anything to do with Magpul , All the Lancer L7 mags , work flawlessly in this CMMG lower , so I know this Lower has only worked with Steel Mags in the past , now it likes the new generation of Plastic ones also . I just have to make sure no first gen. Mags & it should be fine . If you are not familiar with this Lower , its an early Billet Lower Receiver , made long before a PMag was made for the 308AR's .
