Why is is more reliable ? Because you have a two set screws , set in a little depression in the Barrel . If you look at any clamp on type , you will notice the Gas Block contacts about 99% of the circumference of the Barrel , not so with the set screw type , there's a gap at the bottom portion of the Gas Block . When a clamp on is tightened correctly , its not moving . The best for a secure mounting is the std A 2 sight with tapered pins or the Geisselle Gas block with its spiral pin , which are not available with the Adj. blocks you are interested in . Also , depending on who makes the Barrel , that there is a provision for a hand guard cap gap . You have to check the Gas port location in relation to the Gas Blocks stop shoulder on the Manufacturers Barrel , do not take it for granted , that there is .

They will all do the job if Bullet is put in the Boiler room , but for larger game I prefer a Heavy Bullet , ore in the 165-180 gr. range .What ever the rifle shoots best , because it is Factory Ammo .

I use clamp on Gas Blocks , but thats a personal choice . Some only use the set screw type & are happy with them . Your choice .

I have one of their 308 Uppers on a DPMS Lower build & its good to go , has DPMS low rail , post 2009 . I have quite a few of there AR 15 lowers & uppers & fit & finish are perfect .

Just like any component we get for the 308AR , won't know till you try it , but it looks ok . The burr's I found on mine could have been causing my issues also . I don't see any on your Extractor or the New one I just got . The kit I got , also has the O-rings or Donuts for enhanced Spring action for the Extractor spring & I may test one next week , I may not make it to the range till Wednesday.

Thats their whole reasoning , you can still get them , they did not ban them , just the rich can afford them now a days , but their point is still valid ( to Them ) You can still buy & sell them . Even though you have to second mortgage your house to get one , if you want one bad enough ,you will find a way & that's what they wanted & thats' the way our stupid elected officials voted . Its like a catch 22 , they screwed everyone , but think they kept with in the Second Amendment, but they didn't , they are infringing on our rights to own them . Believe it or not , when they in inacted the 1986 act , it took a great deal of my sales & profits away , you could make $$ from Class 3 , not some much form Class 1 firearms , too much competition.

I really can't say its better or worse ( piston/rod type vs DI ), but there are advantages & disadvantages to both type systems . Depends on your definition of a Piston operating system . You could say the DI system is a Piston system , with the Bolt Carrier being the Piston , with the propellant gas pressure being directed to the Piston ( BCG ) via a length of gas tube .

Good you have her running . Check my posts in the "308 Parts" section , in the DWilson Bolts thread . I was having the same issue & I come up with a out of spec Extractor & an Ejector Spring that was not working correctly , don't know why , it looks OK & compresses OK , those two failures don't usually happen together , but they did in my case .

Got my parts kit today & this Extractor is different then the one that came with my bolt . Its like the others that have posted here , the cut in the Extractor for the cases Extractor grove is cut wider , if you look at the photo's of the one from my Bolt & this one , you can see the are flat edges on the out side edges of the one from my Bolt , where the cut is not wide enough . Hard time with enough light in the photo because of the Finnish , but its a wider cut , trust me . Its like the DPMS cut & this one reads Match on it . The one on the left is the DWilson & the one on the right is a DPMS This is the new one I got from Dwilson My altered Extractor works just fine , I will test this one also .

Blue , you talking about the big wrench that has both the DPMS bbl.. nut wrench on one end & for the AR 10 bbl. nut on the other ? If it is ,I haven't seen that one offered for a while , I have one if you need to barrow it .

And the 7075 type is battle proven reliability . -
I think its a an inside job . LOL

I can already see its a wider cut for the Cases extractor grove , look at the ends of the cut & then look at my photo , I must have gotten a short cut one . I will be testing my alteration tomorrow morning . He asked if I would like to get a rebuild kit , but haven't heard from him , so I ordered one yesterday & I see its got my Home Email address & I tryed to change it but the email still comes to my home email instead of my Shops email , could be why he didn't know who ordered the Bolt . The ne Forum is doing some crazy $hit , it added my rely as a quote & keeps adding my Canopy photo to my replies . LOL

Houston Area Deputy Killed Execution-Style

They will be like Rat's on a sinking ship & got to the next hole where the water isn't . Taking matters in your own hands has some sort term benefits , but could land one in more trouble then these Rat's will ever get into . I agree with the heat , but we as concerned Citizens are being blocked by the very Gov. sworn to protect us . -
.338 Federal 8" SBR AR-10 Velocity Results

Video was cool , it looked like it had some fire power . Nice selection of SBR's , also . -
Seems my photo disappeared , not sure how that happened , but I put it back , its all about the canopy , focus on the canopy . To those who have the Dwilson BCG's , are any of you presently running them , if so can you get a photo of your Extractor's extractor grove ? I looked at 98's on the DWilsons BCG thread & the one in his photo appears to look like it has a wider grove for the cases extractor grove . Looking at this one that came with mine , its much narrower & what I think is just a fluke & just machined incorrectly .
