  1. LC Once fired Machine-gun brass is all I use any more & I don't have a problem with them . I use the same Sizer Die the OP is using. I don't use my SB RCBS die much any more ( very old ), unless I have a case that was sized before with a SB sizer die, because of case length after sizing , they are always shorter than " Trim to Length" spec , when sized with a FL Sizer Die. His main problem was a problem being able to properly set the Sizing Die ( case Head spacing, shoulder set back ) OP said he used different types of brass. The rifle Head Spaced OK , so the chamber is to spec's & shouldn't matter what brass is used as long as it is loaded correctly , to spec's . As was said, the tight extraction should go away with fired round count increase .
  2. STD AR 15/16 Buffer spring has 39 coils . Have you shot the rifle with this spring in there ? You should try a DPMS 308 Carbine Buffer spring , it has 29 coils & may be enough difference . As 98 said , the Spring is probably binding or collapsing to full compression. As I asked before , I have a Tubb's Flat wire spring you can try out , to see how it works & is Made for the 308AR . It works in both Buffer systems .
  3. You would have to put a blanket of that crap around my house & it still wouldn't stop the bugs down here ! That much would probably kill my dogs , then us & the bugs would take over my home . <lmao>
  4. Have you tried a slight amount of cam over on the 650 , to tighten what little play there is in the Dillon ? I set my other dies after the Sizer is set , as said . I don't think my 550 shell plate is much different then your 650 , but you never know , the 650 is larger . The tightness on extraction may be just a case of good tight tolerances & the Components need to have some happy time on the range . <thumbsup>
  5. Std lower parts group , does it have a 308 specific Bolt catch ? Or an AR 15/16 Catch ? I broke the first two DPMS attachment screws before & as 98 said , it will act the same way.
  6. If I think you are doing , what I think you are doing , just buy a XDM 45. <lmao>
  7. Wonder how a std Receiver extension ( Carbine ) & DPMS spring would work out . The Buffer is the correct 308 Carbine Buffer , its the Receiver Extension & spring that are not common parts & as 98 pointed out , a unknown Receiver set . I looked at the Photo of the spring on JP's web sight & it has 26 coils , as yours does ( ever notice how mesmerizing it is to count the coils <laughs> ) They also state it is used for the 9MM rifle also . If the photo is correct for the spring , I can't see any thing from JP's being wrong for a build , but a combo of miss matched components can cause all kinds of problems as we have seen in the past . No matter what way you look at it , the BCG is going to far into the Receiver Extension .To me at first look would be weak or wrong spring . I would be willing to try a Tubb's Flat wire spring , I have one if you want me to send it to you to try ?
  8. Sure glad I have great Neighbors. You can't park squat in my hood , the HOA would be all over your a$$ . I hate HOA's though .
  9. Tried std. 1911 mag. in my Kahr PM 45 , & they work , not sure I would trust them for carrie purposes , they do stick down from the bottom of the frame a bit .
  10. I count 25 coils on the Buffer spring . So you are saying an AR 15 buffer would work with this Receiver extension ? That spring is not like a LR DPMS or AR 10. I don't think you can get another 360 rev. from the Extension <dontknow>
  11. The way I look at it , the Lizards help keep the bug problem down & the Snakes keep the Lizard population down , they are both helping me . Now the Bad Snakes are killed with extreme prejudice , I have lakes & woods & streams behind my house , I kill several poisonous snakes a year . I haven't seen an Alligator in the back yard for a couple of years .
  12. Don't sugar coat it , tell us how you really feel . <laughs> I just think they can't hit squat with them, not the riflemen's fault ! <dontknow> We have had our own problems with ammo for our battle rifles .
  13. Seems we are not the only Country to have problems with a new rifle system , though they say this is an Ammunition problem . http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Security-Industry/2015/04/01/German-Army-rifles-under-scrutiny-for-accuracy-problems/4311427902465/
  14. This photo was taken this morning & the stare off went on for a half hour , before the Lizard slowly backed up into my Hot Tub in between the insulation panel & the outer wood like cover . The Snake ( Black Racer ) then started to use flicker its tongue , for the first time , like he know the sent was there , but couldn't find him . The Snake finally moved off , plenty more Lizards around for the Snake to fatten up on .
  15. I have a Redding Bushing FL Die & have no problems with it . How are you setting your sizer die up ? Has this rifle had the Head Spacing checked ?
  16. I also use extra high rings on all my AR's, but its how your cheek weld on the stock that dictates how high of a ring you will need . A lot of it is trial & error or there are ways to take some rudimentary measurements to get close to a size or height. Ring or mount manufacturers have different ways of coming up with their height spec's . The last two ring sets I bought were Warne QD , but I also like the Burris Extreme Tactical rings . All that have been mentioned above are good choices also. Hard choice to make .
  17. The Bambi video is why I kill them with extreme prejudice . No roping , wrestling , just feed them lead & I'm not too much into shooting sticks at them any more ether . <lmao>
  18. Issue # 1 sounds like the contact pads on the side of the Bolt Carrier , just to the rear of the Firing Pin, keeper pin , where the BC is larger & will not make it past the Lower Receivers Extension threads & its hitting the the Receiver . The DPMS 308 Carbine Buffer is about , 2.5 " long , I would think your Buffer spring is not right, first off , as said . Take care of one issue at a time , the BCG hitting the Lower Receiver is the first one that needs to be looked into . There is another possibility that we have been seeing a lot of late & that's out of Spec Receiver sets being made by new Manufacturers . Not saying yours are one of these , but it can't be taken out of the equation for trouble shooting your problems . You problems # 2 & 3 may have something to do with your other Components or can be related to the # 1 issue . Have not heard of you BCG Manufacturer. http://www.crypticcoatings.com/bolt-carrier-group-coatings/ Interesting coatings , but any coating on components can cause issues ( Extractor , Ejector ) with components , until broken in . Has the rifle had Head Spacing checked ?
  19. Good luck . Second interview is a good sign .
  20. Since I can't find the one we put a lot of info in , Lets start a new one & keep it to Port sizes , no need for trash talk . We know they will be close , but at least if we have something , Trouble shooting may be a little easier . Maybe if this thread is clean enough to be a Sticky. Good luck on the clean part . <laughs> Manufacturer , Barrel Length , Gas system & Caliber Wilson Combat Barrel 300 BLK. 1 -8 16" Light wt. ,S/S Carbine Gas system Gas Port - 0.109" Fulton Armory , Criterion Barrel 308 , 1 - 10 16" HB. , S/S Rifle Gas System Gas Port Size - 0.1095"
  21. That's a tall order of info your looking for . I know I have always wanted a Cougar ( Colt Python Barrel, usually a 4",on a Ruger Security Six frame ), but mixing blow back operated slides on different manufactures frames would be a real challenge . Too many variables in the way Manufacturers set their particular actions & or Safety's , triggers & its Mechanisms up , not to mention the dimensional differences of them . It can be done , but why ? It could be very dangerous .
  22. There has to be some way they use or should I say , should use , to red flag a bay while being serviced or could this be a spectator tying to pick up spent brass , another unknown .
  23. All you guy's talking trash about what you would do to HER . It would be funny if she/it wiped out a big Wanker on ya . <lmao>
