  1. Seems they have answered you question . I personally will not build a 308AR with out a Rifle gas system & I have never used an Adj. GB ( disclaimer < I have an AR 15 build with a Superlative Arms Piston system & I didn't have a choice thats its adjustable, its the way it came & I wanted to try a Piston system & I really like it , the whole rifle )
  2. I think its pretty cool , but I have never bought a factory AR & dont intend to start . It is interesting , I like the brown early version . Tempting . I have one more payment on my Socom , so I cant think of anything $$ wise for a while .
  3. Welcome from Florida PSA is some funny stuff , we have a Section just for PSA here somewhere , I think in the Manufacturers section , you can get some info there on PSA Builds & start a new thread . I don't know squat about Commifornia laws or how to decipher them , but some here are in your same boat & will answer you as best as one can . https://forum.308ar.com/forum/135-palmetto-state-armory/
  4. I tested the two Rifles again today with Ramshot , Xterminator with a higher velocity loading of 24.6 gr./ 62 gr FMJHP & WW primer . Completely opposite results in the Average Velocity with the higher velocity ammo , which is going to be my new loading , because I like the way it shoots in both of these 16" rifles , but also the 24" . (10 shot test ) DI or PISTON AVG. Vel. ES SD Piston 2864 fps 59 fps 18 fps DI 2821 fps 69 fps 21 fps I didn't expect the Velocity to switch with the Piston System , I thought the avg. spread would have grown on the DI system side not switch , because the Piston system is a bleed off type , where the excess gas is expelled into the atmosphere , not down the barrel behind the Bullet . The ES & SD did square off better , more consistent ammo & both Rifles shot really good in the gusting wind conditions & the fact that the Piston Rifle has a Rough Justice Trigger & the DI Rifle has an ACT Trigger in it & Scopes are different , with the Piston Rifle having a better & more magnification then the DI Rifle . The ten shot groups were in the same place , impressive .
  5. I sighted in the Scope on the 25-45 Sharps today , on a very gusty wind day , had my meter going crazy , it would steady out between 5-7 mph & then go up to 20 mph real quick & drop just as fast in a blink of an eye . The 90 gr. SGK bullet with H335 @ 26.3 gr. , WW primer & they shot real good , as I wrote in the James Madison Trigger review , ten shot groups , were not small because of the wind , but a lot of them were in the same 1-2 " hole , with that funny wind. I think the combo of Ammo, Rifle & Trigger did great .
  6. Got a chance to try of the James Madison Tactical Trigger today & it worked great , had a little creep before breaking , much like a two stage Trigger , clean glass like break & I'm very happy with it now. This is the first chance I had to play with it since I got it back from him & I need to email him& tell him it worked flawlessly . Its in my 25-45 Sharps rifle & if it wouldn't have been a gusty wind day I could have made a one hole group , as it was , once I dialed in the Scope with the new load , some were in one hole & I was shooting ten shot groups .
  7. Its an addictive hobby that is very rewarding . I can make a loading ( as said above ) for a Rifle , better then any factory ammo , as long as the Barrel is in good shape , plus the shear verity of load variables that are not available for any particular caliber . The time & tolls to make precision ammo for a rifle is costly top start up , but then they pay for themselves & you can save some $$ . Its is somewhat labor & time consuming process , but you also have pride in rolling your own . Its not for everyone , but if you have a friend that reloads , see if you can help or try it & see if it interests you , before you go out & lay hard earned funds to start up .
  8. If 98 uses them , they are good for a 308AR . I would look at Vortex also for your price range .
  9. I think they had a little help , some questionable calls , as usual . Did the Vikings show up , I didn't watch the game Nor will I watch the stuper bowel .
  10. Any military in the NATO realm , more then likely .
  11. I think your budget will be determined by your shooting distance , inexpensive Scopes wash out at extended range , if long range is your goal .
  12. I think with all the inventory or Rifles , they got some mixed up , be it because there were so many at the scene or on purpose to make it look like he had so many Bump fire stocks for political reasons . You have better eyes then I do , because some of those photo's suck .
  13. I counted from their list of Firearms . I did notice how many times they repeated themselves in that report , which I found strange . Now I have to look at the photos again .
  14. This is for all; Well , if your a member , they have elections & you can have input with what they say & do , ( Neal Knox comes to mind ) If not a member , you are riding on the membership dues of others who do pay for them to lobby elected officials . Their are over five million of us that think they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with ( Politicians ), so ya , you have the first amendment right to free speech & can say what you want , but if not an NRA member , your opinion is just that , an opinion .Your not changing anything from the outside . If you don't like what they do for your gun rights , join , become a voting member , speak your opinion & see if you can make the changes you want . Other wise , just go to Forums like this & speak your opinion , I'm sure it helps . I'm also a GOA member , our strength is in numbers in these organizations , standing outside & your not really helping , just mouthing your opinion ( which is your right ) . Individuality is great for some things , but not the war we are in , we are always running up hill , protecting the Second Amendment , when we really should be standing strong at the top , because it should be protected as with the First Amendment . Its probably one of the reasons for the so called Resistance movement against the POTUS, which we all know is a massive propaganda machine to unseat an legally elected POTUS , by subversion or any other thing they can think of . so endth my sermon Now I have never liked the looks of the SCAR , it may be the future & a great design , but I think its space gun looks is butt ugly & cheesy looking .
  15. Its all about the Bling ! I loaded 44 mag. & 45 Colt last night , now on to 25-45 Sharps & 9MM & then my reloading bench will be free of prepped brass for a couple of days .
  16. The " Me Too" movement is having an effect on a lot of women . I say grow a set & take control of your life . The women I have known , have never had that " I'm a Victim " mentality , she has issues & should seek help .
  17. Sure
  18. I agree , the LE Wilson Case HS Gages work fine . I went for so long without using any a Case gage , its a wonder my ammo worked , it wasn't till the last year or so , I started to use them , I'm glad they talked me into using them here . I have them for all the Bottle neck Cases I reload for now .
  19. Looks like a Carbine Gas System , get an adj. Gas Block & a 12" + Hand Guard with full top Rail . Also looks like a 0.750" Gas Block . Adj . the Gas Block per instructions & it will be a softer shooter , leave the Stock system alone if you like it . Put some BUIS on . Might need a Strap wrench to remove stock HG , not sure of the newer ones , someone else here will know . Plenty of Railed HG's out there for a LR DPMS . A 2016 built LR DPMS will be the low Rail Upper Receiver .
  20. I dont drink much any more , but ammo would be nice .
  21. I read now he had hundreds of child porn photo's on one of the four Lap Tops in his room .One of his brothers was arrested for the same thing , not long after the shooting . By shooting at that storage tank , he wanted to do whole sale damage , who knows what that would have done . Lots of buildings close , not to mention people fleeing that way from the shooting . Ya know sooner or later , there will be a highly trained shooter ( terrorist ) that will not screw things up with a plan , that will be real bad .
  22. My LE Wilson Case gages instructions read that the Case is to SAAMI specs if its between the two levels , not above or below , so its easy to test ( without a measuring device ) or set the Case shoulder set back between the two or , like I set mine , just above the lower shelf , just above the minimum spec's . I know I don't know the precise measurement reading , but I can surely adj. the Shoulder set back adj. & as one reviewer posted , not sure if it helps accuracy in an Semi Auto Rifle like the M1A or 308AR , maybe a Bolt Action, not really sure ,never experimented , have to take the article's word on it . Have you seen a difference ?
  23. I believe I read that the BP said that the multiple fence system was working real good , I also think they plan on another chain link fence after the wall , on our side . I really don't believe those wall sections really kept the SF from scaling it . They were probably limited towhead methods would be used & if they did , thats a mistake . I also think ( & they won't say much about it ) is that the wall will also have electronic measures with in it , for tunneling under it & breaching it . This what I want to see .
