  1. If you go that far , make sure you are slightly cam-ing over on your press to take out any chance of play. I know that most make the sizing adj. for shoulder set back , but that may not work to chamber the brass. I set my sizing dies to cam-over , The last sizing die I purchased was this Redding die & the sized brass would not fit properly until I cam-ed the press over slightly .
  2. If you look at Velocities ( if you use a Chronograph for testing ) you can see in grouping at a certain range , that there could be multiple velocities that print good groups , at that particular range ( sweet spots ). So if you get brass that has a different case volume ( velocity could change ) , with your loading , it could be out or of the sweet spots for groups . You just have to make notes & adjustments for that brass , it usually changes with brass brand , but different year head stamps of mil spec ammo could also change. The fact that you are fire forming the brass in that particular chamber is another good reason to sort & use the same brass for that chamber , even though you resize it (FL or SB ) SB being closer to SAMMI spec's .
  3. Who else sells a rifle length gas system on a 16" 308 ? If you have one made , will they make it rifle length ? I know most believe it doesn't work , well sorry to disappoint , mine works fine .
  4. Not fair showing tools , this is a family forum . <laughs>
  5. http://online.wsj.com/articles/smartphone-add-ons-offer-thermal-imaging-1408396425?mod=WSJ_hpp_sections_business
  6. I wear a button up shirt & never wear a t-shirt under , too hot down here . I have a variety of Nylon CC holsters & they work just fine & I sometimes run with my dogs & never feel I'm going to lose anything, but I alway wear a belt of some sort. Several of them have an extra mag pouch on them . I carrie my PM 45 with extra mag in the small of my back .
  7. I can tell you this , by talking to & using MechArmor products & knowing who he sells to , I will give him the benefit of doubt . I didn't know they sold Armor & I plan on purchasing some shortly . I have to return his call now & ask him. I will be the first to admit , I know Dodily Squat about Body Armor , so I have a lot to learn.
  8. I have read that all shell holders are not made to the exact same spec's , even the same brand & have read others have done what you have done to make them size properly . I only use RCBS shell holders & all of mine are thirty years young . Fortunately I have not had any problems with sized brass not chambering.
  9. LW barrel. This would be my first choice FA, Kreiger Criterion 16" HB, just for Rob to look at . <thumbsup>
  10. All I got to say is Damn , I thought there was a fitness standard for LEO ?
  11. Teflon bullets ?
  12. I did not know that about Troy, I think I only have two items from them over the years anyway . One rail & three pak of there mags. I have never purchased anything fro CTD
  13. It was the reference material in the link he posted , that said that the bullets are imperfect . If you had a barrel that the lands & groves & bore ,was that off , you probably have a barrel that would not print decent groups at all , with any ammo/bullet combo & I would send it back. The 308 would make a good deer caliber & don't worry about pissing people off here , as long as your not pissing on them. <lmao> If you look at the reloading section , we have a lot of fun working up loads for the 308. I'm still dorking around with loads for my 16" & 20 "
  14. Need to check head space , just to make sure the chamber is good . I have found that the NIB Bolts are all tight at first , even head spacing . Lube it all up & cycle the action a whole bunch of times , over & over & clean & re-check operation .
  15. I prefer Nylon holsters myself , remove the clip & throw them in the washer , but also like those Leather Mernickle ones . I'm just cheap , what can I say . <dontknow>
  16. Looks good . <thumbsup>
  17. You can correct it by purchasing one & letting us know what you think of it . Unless someone comes up with their review of it . <thumbsup> Is that the one Fulton Armory is selling ? http://www.fulton-armory.com/
  18. And it has a disclaimer , WTF <lmao>
  19. And where are the photo's of these paint jobs ?
  20. Done shot all of the ones I had loaded & not impressed with them . Could be me , the loads or the rifles , but no load I loaded up printed very good groups . I'll stick with Hornady , SMK's or Noslers & I like barnes hunting bullets . These bullets are made to have less deflection when penetrating barriers or other structural materials & may not be the best for grouping, not sure , but I won't be buying any more for testing . You only get fifty for the price of a hundred with other manufacturers , so testing is not cheap .I'll see if I can find the photo of the target.
  21. Wow , I want to shoot at your range <laughs>
  22. Parts appear to be compatible with your rifle , test fire & find out , but they should work .
  23. Just by watching your ejection pattern , with out the failure to eject ones, you have an erratic ejection pattern . Could be a problem with the Extractor or Ejector, or both , disassemble bolt components & inspect . Could be weak springs , sticking or binding Bolt parts . Been seeing a lot of that of late , from a variety of manufactured rifles. - It it a DI gas system ? - Does the BCG hold open on last round from the Magazine ? -Using plenty of lubricant for break in ? What type or brand ? - Whats the round count of the rifle ? Can you post photo's of the spent brass base .
