I would much rather change out worn out gas rings than entire BCG .

The only way I have found to make sure gas holes are lined up is by measurement. I use any thing that will give a some what tight fit in the holes ( different size drill bits work ) & insert it in the hole & measure to the shoulder or end of the gas block , which ever you are taking the measurement of & that will tell you where the to set the gas block . Of course, a good dial caliper( or digital , as I use ) is the best way to check measurement. You can also be off side to side , it doesn't take much. Some gas blocks are set up for a gap , between the gas block & barrel shoulder stop for the gas block , for the hand guard cap , some don't & need to be set up against the barrel shoulder. The only good thing is that the gas block , gas orifice is always a hair larger than the gas port in the barrel , so it gives you a little fudge factor. I'm with 98 , it may be a tight chamber or rough one .( a DPMS trait on some chambers )

Couldn't agree with you more , but right now we have the problem at hand & seems no one is coming up with ideas except the ban commies. I plan on putting this idea to my congressman & any one that will listen . Banning any thing is not the answer , we know that ,but its there way of disarming us & we all know that . It has nothing to do with crime control. Hippa laws as they are written ,will keep the nut cases incognito ,know one will be able to recognize them before hand ,so if they bust a screw & kill people , they all can say , who knew such a thing would happen. All procedures for firearms sales would not change . If I don't have a CWL in my state , I would have a three day waiting period for firearm transfer to me , but since I have a CWL , it transfers at time of sale . Maybe its time to look at private sales in a different light , better than banning something (s) You will never stop a bad guy from procuring a firearm if they want one bad enough . If they want one bad enough , they will KILL an LEO for one & for those who think that's a hard thing to do , you watch too much TV. That woman that was a straw buyer for that wacko in NY , will & should be made an example of .

This probably won't make much sense to the gun banners ,but insted of banning some thing , that won't make a hill of beans difference in gun violence , Why not use the Concealed weapons license as a tool to be able to purchase said firearms( & mags ) that they want to ban. As a CWL holder , you have already had a back ground check & when was the last time you saw a gang banger with a CWL ? Or for that matter a nut case ! If a state doesn't have this program available ( this might help in getting it ) have the same process with an photo ID ( like we should have every where for voting ). this way nothing is banned , no registration ( and that's what they want with them registered as a title II ) & ya know a law abiding citizen is buying & owning . Also they should require any one under psychiatric care should be evaluated in some way ( that can be abused also ) Does this make sense ?

Ya , I had to stop in the Fun store last week & same is true , no high cap any thing . They had a wall of AR type mags the week before & I went in & had a good laugh at all the empty pegs . The owner just shook his head & man were they busy . Makes on wounder who will be able to stay in business after this , they may not be able to restock to keep customers. This was brought up by Brownells on the sight & posted on this forum .

I thought of this also & do it . I canceled HBO a year or so ago( had a hell of a time convincing the wife ,because she liked some of there soap opera's ) & told them why , all there propaganda shows that they show over & over again was too much for me to take & I don't watch much TV . Maybe we should start a list of who & why & get the word out . Concentrate on the big picture at first & branch out . I have been trying to only buy made in USA products for years & some think I go over board ,but its hard to find some stuff made in USA & ya got to bit the bullet some times , & it hurts . I have one of his 300BLK barrels in almost the same configuration ,except a carbine gas system & its a real good shooter with all bullets .

The std carbine buffer from DPMS has worked my 16" for years now . The spring is a flat wire spring now (Superior springs ), but the DPMS one worked with no problems . Spikes & others make heavy buffers that will work in a 308 carbine also.

Get the one ya like & paint it.

F'en scalpers. An AR 15 will probably ( or has )go through the roof . There is a guy at work that wants big money for his son's (deceased ) AR 15 now that there will be a big demand for them . I can get it probably less than others & thought about it ,just to keep it for who's owned it & this guy could use the money , but if you pay big $$ now & nothing too much happens with a ban . You be stuck with a high $$ piece that is only worth half of what ya paid for it . I can tell you for sure , high cap. mags will take a hit & be banned . Just how far will it go is any ones guess , with the useless politicians we have . They will sacrifice for political gain & will not care about the constitution .

I think Jgun was trying to make a power factor with the loads. I use H110, there are others that work just as good.

I also use WC 846 for my 308 & 5.56 ammo ( & 30'06 ) , have been for over twenty five years, could be more . I'm down to my last 8#, so I need to get some more . Mind your loads with this stuff , as said, lot to lot could have different results in chamber pressures. The cost & it being a good powder, makes choosing it easy for me.

So far ,the cartridge works with all the different .308 bullets ,but seem too have settled on the 125's.
