  1. I think the heat he is referring to is how it effects the Gas Tube , they are effected by it & do expand some , not to mention some pressure spike movement when peak Gas signature is put to them . The Gas Tube path is a common issue with 308AR Barrel nuts , not so much any more , because most manufacturers have learned that the 308AR Barrel Nut is much larger the its little brother .
  2. Wash , thats one nastyass Eclipse , I'm glad it Rained here all afternoon, so I missed it .
  3. Another advantage the Carbine Stock Buffer system gives you is changeability of different weight Buffers for Tuning & felt recoil . Understand there are many factors to felt recoil ,but having the ability to change Buffer weights , that are readily available with out a custom made Buffer , is helpful . Of course that changes with the 308AR , depending what 308AR Buffer system is in the Carbine stock . It may sound complicated , but its not , basically ( we have a Pinned Thread on buffer systems) Armalite AR 10 uses a different system the the DPMS based system . AR 10 uses a longer Receiver Extension then the AR 15 Carbine Receiver Extension , their 308 Buffer Spring & an H2 AR 15 type Buffer , where the DPMS Based 308AR uses a DPMS 308 Carbine Buffer of their own design , but a AR 15 standard Carbine Receiver Extension . Both systems can be used on any 308AR , as long as the proper components for each system are used . But edgecruser pretty much sums it up .
  4. Collapsible stocks are good if you have Body Armor on or other large outer clothing/gear , not to mention fitment of stock for shorter arm people .
  5. Radar , Bridge watch , Deck watch & a very big Ship coming at you , even the Radar would have given an proximity audible alarm , well if any one was awake . Maybe the Chinese or Russians have a way of stealth for the Container Ship & the Deck watch or Bridge watch didn't see them , ya , thats it !
  6. WTF is going on with these ship collisions ? There is something not right with operations , I can't believe they are all asleep ! http://www.breitbart.com/news/u-s-navy-warship-collides-with-oil-tanker-near-singapore-10-sailors-missing/

    Tragedy

    I agree , watch your six !
  8. Ya ,Damn thing looks good with the black grips ! Here is an explanation with drawing/pictures of upgrades http://www.gunsandammo.com/news/sig-sauer-p320-public-service-announcement/ Looking at how they are upgrading , it seems to me , this is not an overnight ,quick fix . I'll be willing to bet this has already been tested , most likely in R&D while designing the P320 FCU & was deemed not needed by the bean counters , which sometimes comes back to haunt most manufacturers at some point . I'll be happy that they will make my P320 safer Shooting review coming to a Thread near you
  9. Lancer may be expensive , but worth every penny , they just work .
  10. You can Put any stock on you want, on any length Barreled AR Rifle , as long as you use the Proper Components along with it .
  11. Yep , send it back , Faxon will take care of you . Thats a good idea to use your Arrow Saw When I hear of an issue like yours , I try to document it , so it can be used later , if needed . Nothing about the Barrel maker , just if it comes up again . I have a very early FF Hand Guard ( 70's ) made by Olympic Arms , its one of those early ones that are the Barrel Nut all in one , this one happens to be made of Steel & no matter how many times you mount the HG , its off when you look down the front , Barrel not centered , has to be in the Threads or the Threaded Barrel Nut was not welded correctly & is off .
  12. Proprietary , not unusual with 308ARs .
  13. Now that should be Pined somewhere , good one I saved it .
  14. Do you have a Photo of the Faxon Barrel with the straight edge on it ? Also a Photo of the Upper Receiver where the Gas tube enters it . What are your measurement aligning points , meaning , are you using the Upper Receiver alignment Pin on the Barrel Extension & referencing the Gas Port on the Barrel ? The reason I asked about the Muzzle Device is , depending on how the Barrel was secured to install it , there have been many cases of moving the Barrel with in the Barrels Extension , by not securing the Barrel with Vice Blocks. Using a Upper Receiver Block is not the Proper tool for Muzzle device removal or install , nor is the tool to hold the Barrel Extension locking lugs . The reason I ask all these question is, to make sure its the Barrel & not something else before you send in .
  15. Ya , we have a manufacturer that doesn't have a Rifle in production yet in that section , why not one that does . Sorry Rob I couldn't help myself .
  16. Got my Instrument Panel yesterday , everything works , sure is nice to have A/C , but , I have the Air Bag light lit now , whats funny is , I was getting a chime once in a while that usually sounds when I get low enough on fuel to put the low fuel light on , but wasn't low on fuel , so I'm thinking its one of two things , , since I had an audible ,but no light , I think I have an issue with something in the Air Bag system or somethings not right with the new board or work done to the Instrument panel . Since they tested the instrument panel, I would think if there was something shorted out to light that light , I believe its an issue with the Air Bag sensor system . I did some psoliminary testing form items that should be checked , by looking around the net & I think it may be my Impact Sensor in front of the Radiator , everything else looks Ok & that front crash sensor is known to go bad & may be why I have that audio alarm & maybe the Panel didn't show it before it was repaired . I can't find a way to test that from impact sensor , but most say when that light lights with out any code , its one of two things , that front sensor or the light is out for the passenger Air Bag. The Passenger light is working properly , so with out a way to test that front crash sensor , I have to replace it . At 145K , it probably won't hurt to replace it any way @ $100 , for a part that probably only costs ten bucks to make
  17. Gas tube can enter the Upper Receiver , but be cocked to one side or the other , I assume you mean its aligned or centered in the CH Channel . Possibly the Barrels Gas Port was Drilled incorrectly or the Barrel Extension moved . Did you attach a Muzzle Device ?
  18. I assumed it was working before the Barrel change out ?
  19. Barrel Extension loose ? You have to make sure its the Barrel or the Barrels Port hole alignment with the Extension alignment Pin .Not only that , but you have to make absolutely sure your Gas Blocks Gas Port Is dead center with the Barrels Gas Port , the Gas Block Port should be a little larger then the Barrels Port . You also have to see if the Bas Blocks Port hole is in alignment with the Gas Tube , centered . How does the Gas Tube Look in the Upper Receivers Charging Handle's Channel , when assembled to the Upper Receiver , centered ? Use a laser or similar straight edge to see if the Gas Port on the Barrel lines up with the Alignment Pin in the Barrels Extension .
  20. Perhaps the reason for today's decision about transgenders in the military. When Obama signed the bill that allowed gays to serve openly in themilitary (trans-genders as well). No more don't-ask-don't-tell. Butwhat he really did was cause confusion in the ranks that could easilycost Marine lives. We know Marines are trained to immediately obeyorders. So imagine: You're a Marine in a combat situation; ISIS is firing at you andrunning toward your position & the guy next to you is openly gay...then your platoon leader yells...“Shoot the cocksuckers!" See the confusion here?
  21. When I was in the Navy , we had fake wounds, all types of them , that could be attached to the body & they included a hand pump to squirt fake blood , like an open Artery , depending on what type of wound . Like chest wound would be able to suck air in & these things that were attached even looked sorta real . If I had an arterial one strapped on , I would wait till one of the responders got their face close & hit that squeeze bulb as hard as I could to squirt them in the face . That is some realistic training there , nothing like the fog of war to confuse combatants . Be nice if we all had a range like that to do those types of things . I did have when I lived in Ohio & we used to do a bunch of live fire exercises , long time ago though .
  22. This is the only one I'm really involved in & the Sig Talk forum is because I know very little about Sig Pistols , except for their reputation . Which has always been at the top of reliability & service through out the World . After reading some of the comments of hate on those forums about the Upgrade of the P320"s , even here , its way over blown . They always seemed to be out of my price range , now I have two , both in one month , I figured , you only live once & you can't take it with you , so I gave myself an early Birthday Present .
