  1. I love that stock. Have 2 at the moment :)
  2. Looks pretty bulky. Would be cool to integrate the idea into the handguard itself. Could have a dedicated slidefire rig.
  3. Egg whites and aqua net. Required maintenance...but I could wash it at least. The Elmers glue thing wasn't great for tall ones anyway. They would bend at the base. Worked better for liberty spikes and such.
  4. Anderson manufacturing has something called the oops kit. Has all the springs/pins/detents and is about $13
  5. Well...that was before digital photography, and taking pictures of oneself isn't very punk rock. I'll see if I have anything though lol.
  6. my vest is a paca...but the man is getting cheap and everyone is getting new vests out of the galls catalog. I was meticulously measured for my paca by a shop that specifically caters to LEOs. Now its a supervisor with a tape measure if you are lucky. Possibly just a quick eyeball if they are busy. Of course they still hang little motivational posters all over about safety being the priority while guys are leaving vests at home because they fit like crap.
  7. Well...I had a foot tall Mohawk in high school so I can't really talk
  8. So..are the subs Hollywood quiet? Only experience I have first hand with cans is on FA sub guns. A Sterling with a integrated suppressor is stupid Hollywood quiet. The MAC 10 I played with..not so much.
  9. My toaster is CHARlie. Its not a very good toaster. My alarm clock has a name but I try not to use that word in polite company.
  10. Putting this sale as on hold. Think im just going to build a SPR.
  11. CMMG seems to have lots of internet complaints. RRA and Smith use several proprietary parts. People seem to love the LAR8. I think the jury is still out on the Smith. DPMS seems to be the most common standard for parts. Most of the rifles are vanilla out of the box but easily upgradeable. I don't know anyone with a colt but its probably nice. Do you plan on keeping it factory or adding parts?
  12. Had a Hardon for a UBR for a while. Finally traded into one. Its definitely cool but I sure wouldn't spend $250 on a new one. It does look painfully cool and feels great, but its too heavy for the 14.5. Will probably migrate to the 18" gun or the 308.
  13. Are those rifle stocks A1 or A2 length? I like the look of them. And damn you Matt...I had talked myself out of a can after hearing a few that were not impressively quite, but that was cool.
  14. I just refer to them by barrel length. This wouldn't work for most of you obviously lol.
  15. Don't forget FSB parts. Most factory barrel assemblies with a pinned sight, and even my armalite clamp on come without post/detent/spring. If a customer walks into a shop to pick up $5 worth of parts...they will probably leave with more. I would also think a few gas tubes would be a nice touch. Those little things you may forget in the excitement of ordering the big build parts. I have 3 shops near me that have small parts kits. Very handy since shipping usually costs as much as the item. I mortared a stupid buffer retainer pin the other day and couldn't find it for the life of me. They had one in the box, and I picked up a grip, rail covers, and some ammo that I had no need for.
  16. We have that on one of our boards at work.
  17. I went with set screw because my barrel was dimpled. A side bonus is knowing the gas block is completely straight and correctly positioned (assuming you trust the dimple and screw location)
  18. Im guessing the vast majority of DPMS low pro uppers purchased over the past few years are the low ones. They will eventually become the standard by saturation. We will have SR25/DPMS old : DPMS : AR10 and a pile of proprietary heights. Anyone know if Fulton is still using the old DPMS height? I figure its only a matter of time until DPMS makes them switch.
  19. No matter how many times I do it and think I got it right....every now and then I pick up a rifle a scream "ITS FRKIN CROOKED" it annoys me to no end. If I could settle on one setup for a rifle I'd take it to a pro for piece of mind but I swap my stuff around like Legos.
  20. .936 is probably correct. Pretty standard size for DPMS bull barrels.
  21. Somebody spent $5500 on a DPMS? Did it come with a $4000 scope on it?
  22. That is the beautiful and distinctive sound of the m16/ar15 family of rifles. I personally love it and wouldn't loose it for anything. I would like to record that soothing sound and loop it over and over and fall asleep to it every night. Shame on you magwa!
  23. From a budget standpoint....best thing to do is try to find a complete DPMS rifle in stock somewhere, and then upgrade over time. Otherwise...prepare to be poor :)
