  1. Outfkcingstanding! We have two of those. First one was purchsed when they were out of production and most were being sold for $650-800. Walked into the LGS and they just put one out for $400. The girl laid claim on that one. Told her "You can have that when I find another one." Then Ruger announced the 8-shot SP101 in .22LR. Walked into the same LGS and they had a 6-shot for $300. SCORE! You are going to LOVE that little six-shooter!
  2. Hey...we tried to hook him up with Nancy Pelosi but that deal fell through.
  3. I always try to be discreet when moving firearms about. That was all spoiled with the first AZ shoot in Sierra Vista, after Mike got here...took us half an hour to transfer 4,000 lbs of firearms and ammunition from the trunk of his subcompact to the back of my Ranger. We did a wheelie to SV. Fortunately we shot enough ammo that the trip back was uneventful. Only took us 15 minutes to transfer the remainder back to his car.
  4. That's kind of a bummer. My walkie-talkies when I was a kid had Morse code right on the back of them. B)
  5. Welcome from AZ! Money is all you need.
  6. Love it!
  7. I'd like to get mine too! Found out recently the local radio club will let you conduct practice tests until you are able to pass, then charge a nominal fee to take the FCC exam. So Magwa, are you testing for the class/level 2 license? My understanding is the highest level still tests for Morse code.
  8. I know just to ride those WWII Warbirds when they come around here it is $500 a person. Wonder what they charge for a skydive?!
  9. The Another sad thing is that, when another "official" in that shooting community gets shot...again, the media will jump all over it nationally. "See? Even shooting experts can't be safe!"
  10. Welcome from AZ!
  11. I like what I've seen of it. Give it a try.
  12. What are you up to, Crazy Genius? Hhmmm... <dontknow> Just to clarify, you want to see how many different makes will fit squarely upon a 1911 frame? That sounds like a project I can look into.
  13. FWIW, this is the same shooting community of NW Arizona, where the instructor placed himself in the completely WRONG area for that girl shooting the Mini-Uzi last year. If we don't self-police that is what you get.
  14. Yup...that's usually what I remember. Pay to ship 120 pounds of assorted big parts, look at the confirmation..."Crap! I forgot that trigger pin!"
  15. No it doesn't. Unless he wants to crank in a screw with the wrong head type on it. The MagPul PRS comes with the correct screw if you are not using an extension, a flat truss-style head that is slotted. The DPMS extender kits come with two screws of different lengths, with flat heads that need to be countersunk. Another issue people have been having with stock extenders is the screw not being vented...creates just enough back pressure in the system to piddle with the reliability. You've fixed the issue with the length stopping the rearward travel of the buffer, hence the BCG not being able to engage the bolt stop. If you find your LAR-8 still isn't cycling reliably, take your 1/4-28 stock bolt down to the machine shop and have them drill a hole with a 44 or 43 drill bit. I chased this issue quite awhile, when I changed out magazines, my gas block, and the stock all at once. The screw length was easy. Other people mention the screw issue on the reviews here: http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/buffer-tube-parts/buffer-tube-hardware/ar-15-m16-buttstock-extender-prod5559.aspx
  16. Good luck MM. When we were in western Texas, we were hard pressed to find a LGS. Those listed in the regional phonebooks were out of business.
  17. Happens every time I get the confirmation email that my order was being processed.
  18. +1 on that! Everyone that has migrated here for a shoot has had a GREAT time!
  19. Welcome from AZ!
  20. Wow...hot chick protecting endangered wildlife. I bet she's not scared of beavers either.
  21. Yes, that will require replacing your gasblock. Since it is DPMS there is a multitude of forearms/handguards/"front stocks" that will fit.
  22. Beautiful dog! He looks like he's quite serious and ready for duty.
  23. We can never, NEVER be Thunderstruck enough!
  24. Nice! We have to look into an Irish Lass Friskin' Tour for the group!
  25. Hell, I've posted that Thunderstruck before. Twice I think. <thumbsup>
