  1. THAT right there! SHAME on you Wash! You've been here long enough to know better! ..................
  2. BOTH of those right there! My wife is a nurse administrator at our local hospital and has told me several times (under two different corporations' ownership of the hospital) that if a patient doesn't have insurance and is paying cash the costs get slashed, both with the hospital and with the local doctors. As for the procedures done in Mexico, living here on the border and only an hour and a half from Juarez, I've had both dental and Lasik done in Mexico at a fraction of the cost! The Lasik was done by an American doctor based in El Paso. Everything but the actual procedure was done in El Paso (pre-exams and all followups)!
  3. Thank you to all of you who gave of your finances, without you and others like you we could not do what we do. If I have one wish it would be that these funds lay in the bank account and never have to be used!
  4. Bullschit! If it was my kid and I felt the need I would, and if the cop standing there didn't like it he could get the hell off my property. A few years before I retired I answered a call from a woman having trouble with her 10 year old son. Kid was giveing her crap and always picking on his little sister and the lady didn't know what to do with him. I told her "Yank his azz up off the couch and take a belt to him!" She said "I can do that? Isn't that regarded as child abuse now?" and I replied "Of course you can, it's not child abuse, it's discipline!" I told the kid that if his mother had to call me back over there I was going to be the one using the belt! Never got another callback!
  5. Well, unfortunately no one from the forum won the pistol. It went to a nurse at our hospital who bought tickets from my wife. When my wife called her she was very excited and said her husband would be getting a nice birthday present in a couple of weeks. I can't thank you guys enough for all the support for this cause, you guys are like family to me and I've never been a member of a forum who's members are as tight as we are. As a group you guys were the biggest supporter of this raffle and I truly appreciate that! I can't tell you how disappointed I am that someone from the board didn't win but I am overwhelmed by your generosity!
  6. Paid patriotism? This is just one more reason I go to extreme lengths to make sure I don't patronize the NFL! http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/nfl-agrees-reimburse-u-s-taxpayers-720k-paid-patriotism-n577031
  7. I'm having pretty much the same issues as what you had MM. I contacted Dave and he offered to replace the whole BCG but I told him I would rather try changing a couple of small parts first to see if it will resolve the problem so he sent me the bolt repair kit. I haven't had any time to do anything with it since he sent the kit and things probably won't let me get to it for at least another couple of weeks either. Dave definitely stands behind his stuff though, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again!
  8. Just so you know Jon, I DO NOT have any tickets for this raffle! I put quite a bit of money out of my pocket into this run anyway, and since I'm the prez of our New Mexico region I don't want the stigma of being the winner if I was to get lucky. I did buy my wife one ticket (yeah, I know, I'm all heart!) Nothing would make me happier than to see one of you guys on the forum win it though!
  9. I agree with you! The one piece cantilever mounts all set higher than I like. I used a set of scope rings on my Matrix 308 build that puts the bottom of the objective bell a little less than 1/4" above the rail and it works great for me. On my 3 gun AR-15 which has a one piece cantilever mount I put a 1/4 riser on the CTR buttstock.to get the scope to line up with my eye when I shoulder the rifle.
  10. Yup, geting out of that stuff is actually more painful than landing in it! The landing is relatively quick, the getting out is a much more drawn out process, especially if there's no one there to help you!
  11. Nah, I'm happy with derailing yours!
  12. Nice build SS! That primary cover is getting pretty damn hard to find these days!
  13. Back when I was a street cop I got sent on a call about three boys hanging out in an old shed during school hours. I pulled up and got out of the car and they bolted on me around the corner of the shed and across the alley into a gravel parking lot. The last one slipped in the gravel going around a cactus garden and barrel rolled through a huge prickly pear cactus. That kid HAD to have been covered from head to toe with cactus spines by the time he regained his feet. I was laughing so hard all three of them got away.
  14. Yup, I liked Vera so much I had to build one of my own. Expensive to feed but fun as hell! I'm surprised Vera is even operational after the Casa Grande range trip a couple of years ago!
  15. Jon, I'm sure you will appreciate the schit out of this one, I sure as hell do! Check out the riveting on the body! This is just BADASS!!!!!
  16. Nah, needs to be bigger. Bunch of us old farts on here can't see that itty bitty stuff so well nowadays!
  17. Damn Shepp, I knew you had your schit together! Where's our damn frosty beer mug smiley? We're still missing a lot of essentials here boys!
  18. Welcome from New Mexico!
  19. Welcome from New Mexico.Nice shooting Bitman!
  20. Welcome from New Mexico!
  21. That's great Maximus! We had a retired tranny cop in Cali several years ago that wanted to join our club ( Choir Boys LEMC). He/she was told that her club name would be Transformer! For some reason she decided not to join.
  22. Great pic Mack! Grand babies are so much fun!
  23. Now THAT sounds like a plan!
  24. That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the title! If I have to choose out of my stash it would have to be the 308 Matrix build I just finished. I gotta get some pics of that thing posted up, the burnt bronze looks great! (Thanks Tom!)
