  1. 500 rnds. of 300 BLK, 120 grn. copper plated bullets over 17 grns. of 4227.
  2. You might give AAC a call and talk to them about it. Their stuff may not have a built in failsafe. I know that YHM's muzzle devices won't let you fit a 5.56 can on a .30 cal muzzle device but the .30 cal. can will fit the 5.56 muzzle device. Not sure how they accomplish that.
  3. Yup, there's no such thing as spare parts, just parts for the next build!
  4. Guy probably scares the crap out of little kids when he pulls up!
  5. I didn't say it wouldn't work, I said the further away from the bullet path it was the less accurate it would be. Hence the agreement that it better have a good case because you would need to shoot right above it for the most accurate reading.
  6. I haven't been able to mess with it at all, been way under the weather the last few days.
  7. Ron, I don't have a basement. We don't have tornadoes in this part of the country! :fawkdance:
  8. The Doppler principle hasn't though. it's kind of like the laws of physics.
  9. Ed, next time squirt it with some WD-40 before you do that and let it soak a minute. Should keep that from happening.
  10. I'm using the stock run of the mill carbine buffers and springs in both of the BLK pistols I have here.
  11. Yup, my statement is directly applicable to Doppler radar. Doppler radar is what is used in traffic radar and as far as I know, any other speed clocking radar. I was certified as an instructor Doppler radar back in the 80's and as far as I know, the principle hasn't changed. <thumbsup>
  12. <laughs> <lmao>
  13. Cyclic rate usually isn't an issue with this caliber, it's pretty low powered as far as gas pressures go. That's why I'm thinking his gas block might have moved, it wouldn't take much. Most of these 300 BLK barrels have a MINIMUM of .090 for the gas port as opposed to a 5.56 port which is usually .070.
  14. You got THAT right! Radar HAS to be parallel with the bullet path to get an accurate reading. If it's anywhere off to the side it will show a slower velocity than what the bullet is actually traveling. If it's at a 90 degree angle to the bullet path it will actually show zero! Obviously the radar can't be right in the path of the bullet but the closer to that position, the closer the reading will be to actual velocity.
  15. What's a PTS, paintball tactial sight? <lmao>
  16. I have a DPMS Panther (factory gun) that I've had for years. I have no idea what the round count is on it but I'm going to say that it's definitely below the 10K mark. Back years ago the bolt broke in it and it was replaced with a milspec bolt straight out of Ft. Bliss (not gonna say how that happened). Took it out today to try out a 40 rnd Pmag and that bolt broke! I'm guessing the gun hasn't had more that 3K rounds fired on that bolt! Pic below of both bolts, DPMS on the top and the milspec on the bottom.
  17. He already did that SS.
  18. I think this is what threw everybody off, when you said 'lever' it made me think you were talking about the safety.
  19. That's correct Matt. Also, you can't attach a file bigger than 3 MB, but you CAN attach up to 10 files of 3 MB or smaller! My trust in a pdf file is about 6 MB so I had my wife take it to work and scan it into 3 separate files.
  20. Check your gas block to see if it has moved forward!
  21. Once again, I won't pass judgement on a short video. As I've said before, there is ALWAYS more to the incident than that brief window. I will say this though, there are a whole lot of documented incidents of people being killed with rocks, starting with the Bible! Having spent 23 years as a LEO 30 miles from the Mexican border and having a son in the Border Patrol I know for a fact Mexicans throwing rocks at law enforcement is very common and a lot of them are quite good at it!
  22. I remember some of the stuff you posted about your dad Sharkey. He is one tough cookie and will blow this stuff off. Glad you get to spend some time with him! Hope the surgery works really well for your wife, that stuff can be kind of iffy! <thumbsup>
  23. BTW, Auto trans fluid actually works better than engine oil! <laughs>
  24. I feel your pain brother! I too have been at the range with a gun that was in dire need of cleaning. Of course, I never remember to bring any oil so I've wiped down BCG's and then put oil on them off of the pickup's dipstick! Yeah, we do schit like that out here in the desert! :tweed: <lmao>
