About half MSRP right now, if you have an ESEE 5, 6, or Laser Strike this is solid, buy it once, kit. https://5col.com/collections/sale/products/esee-knives-molle-back-panel-for-model-5-6-and-laser-strike

Amazing this guy lived, "Just stick a thumb in it" he says now.

It works, these things are a balancing act, some manufacturers move the weights around to get the system to balance. Tungsten for the heavier buffers is expensive so they downsize the gas port to work with the lighter weight, they make compromises on gas tube length that changes dwell time, there are tons of changes you can make and still have the balance but your band of reliability seems to narrow. The Armalite kit has been found to provide the most reliable function with the widest variety of variables, you just don't find people showing up here with problems from it, the opposite, you can find numerous threads here where that kit solved the problem. There are other parts you can put together that duplicate this, you'll find that info all over the board as well, but for me it is easiest to just recommend the kit.....and to call them if it shows out of stock. I am not familiar with LMT's 308 stuff at all so looking forward to learning a little here.

Suggestions for 308 butt stock mag pouch?

"Suggestions for 308 butt stock mag pouch?" Don't do it. -
Bizarre how this decay can be so obvious to some and yet so acceptable to others.

Depends on the purpose, one of my Grandsons did an extra black black with a purpleish rainbow gun candy clear coat, changes color at angles, flashes of color, very glitzy range toy. He and his buddies just love it, like the monster stacks they put on their diesel pickups it makes no sense to me but I'm thrilled to see enthusiasm for the the platform, plus sanity is only a can of Krylon away.

Personal preference mostly, both are pretty dam tough. About the only place I see much wear on finishes these days is the shell deflector and I don't see enough difference to concern myself with durability between finishes. The conditions you will use the rifle in might be the best deciding factor with color giving Cerakote a big edge there. I live in four season country so I like a good base color, earthy colors, that I can spray over to add the season correct look if wanted. If you go Cerakote make sure the applicator knows what they are doing. As far as factory coated parts depends on how important matching color is. It's tough to buy a rail that matches a receiver set exactly unless it's the same maker, even texture can vary. In my case I can have my LGS put the color I want on for less money than I would have to pay to buy the parts coated, if you can find what you want already coated. I've paid from $70 for a basic one color job to $200 for a full camo job with most the small parts and magazine included. Can't say I have any regrets spending the money.

Welcome from Iowa! Tough times to start a build but while you scout for parts and wait for in stock notifications you'll have plenty of time to read up on the subject here

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

But I would never shoulder a pistol brace....... For hundreds of 308 rounds maybe it might start to be a bother, I've used the Kak blade, blade didn't bother me but .....well cheek weld wouldn't be an issue with a brace would it now....... This one ain't for me but I'll get to try it out good. -
Call, talk to a person there. It's a small company but a good company, they have driven 40 miles to a customers house with a replacement rifle in the past, they have a good reputation taking care of problems. No doubt like all firearms companies right now they are swamped and might need time.....but call.

Looked like Magpul has been reading some opinions, curious to see how this one feels. https://magpul.com/what-s-new/bsl-arm-brace-mil-spec.html?mp_global_color=118 -
That's what makes this place so great, you can find the part numbers and links to springs for all applications that are known quality, that work. For the large frame AR's the Armalite spring runs both rifle and carbine system, I like that for stacking spares. PSA has proven you can sell a pile of large frame rifles while ignoring those "parameters" above.

I had three kits when he offered those and still had to reason with myself and not be a parts hog For DPMS I bought this kit from D Wilson several years ago, found out about him here, he used to post up some. I emailed earlier but no go there for parts, can't help us. He does have services, never used them but wouldn't be afraid to. We need somebody in the industry to step up and offer some basic kits like his....anybody? Sorry @Black_Sheep, I'm no help on your quest, my best advice, if you need it, buy it WHEN you see it.

That Dog exudes JOY! Must be a blast watching him work.

That was the first centerfire rifle I bought. Jeweled the bolt, tuned the trigger, glass bedded and customized the stock, then proceeded to shoot the barrel out with my youthfully exuberant handloads, it was a pretty stout action, started out very accurate........

Did the upper come with those dings in the threads? Marks around the cam pin cutout aren't totally unusual, I have a Sig that has some, made them new but it hasn't progressed since. The mark at the front of the ejection port must be from brass getting caught? Don't be milling the front of the upper unless you are positive that it is out of spec, I lap mine till they are uniform/square but that isn't taking much off.

Not having an ex I may be behind the curve here, why would one keep those?
