What is the inside measurement of the buffer tube and length of the buffer? Is the bolt catch engaging the carrier?
-
With the amount of bit already through you may be able to drive it out, risky business without something sacrificial for the bit to hit when it goes.
-
What was the ordered length from WOA? Yours looks right on the money. Curious what the starting port measurement was? If it was the same .073" I had then drilling bigger yet and adding an adjustable block
-
Could we get a picture of the gas tube in the upper, showing its position in the cutout, and a length on the tube? Sucks when those little bits break off. Any exposed bit you can get ahold of? Short of that drilling it out is a slim chance, you need a real good bit and lots of patience, still a slim chance of getting it out without making the hole wonky. Had a machinist burn out a broken tap once, some sort plasma torch contraption, this was the late 90's, much bigger size than you are dealing with so not sure the process scales down, and it cost over $100, cheaper to buy another barrel.

Check the headspace, it should work but without a headspace check you can't know for sure.

There is a new utility knife in my kitchen........ok the wife's kitchen. She has decided the Mora 2000 was made for her. She has big problems in her hand with fingers that don't bend or only bend a certain way due to decades of rheumatoid arthritis. For her, knife selection was based on the grip she could get, this led to some pretty crappy steel in the drawer for years. Last year I got a used 2000 with an ESEE I had bought on ebay, tossed it in her drawer to see what happened. She used the crap out of it! It gets tossed in the dishwasher in basket of other utensils then resides in the silverware drawer where it gets shaken with the other larger utensils. I was getting an earful when she would go to get her knife and find out it was dirty in the sink. It was a little laborious getting it sharpened the first time but since then monthly strop sessions have kept a decent edge on it. The original will get some relief as I added another second hand find. I had it with me for a bit and was going to have her use the Kansbol model to see how it held up to life in the kitchen drawer but no go, the handle is "different" and won't work for her. So it's 2x2000 for the wife and I get the Kansbol, a good trade for me but I fear the end of the "you need a good kitchen knife" excuse I parrot when a new knife arrives in the mail. https://morakniv.se/en/product/morakniv-2000/?v=7516fd43adaa https://morakniv.se/en/product/kansbol/?v=7516fd43adaa

Fairy Nectar IPA from Kross Strain Brewing co. in LaVista Nebraska. It smells like nectar, stone fruit, tropical notes like pineapple and mango. The fruit keeps coming strong in the mouth, real juicy feel with a creamy fruit juice flavor, rolls from a sweet more stone fruit flavor into a citrus tropical thing with the bitter increasing to the end with a dank and piney hop flavor. There is a bit of a caramel malt backbone but hops and all the different flavors they give are the main attraction, all of them get a line in this play. A very tasty IPA, watch for this brewery.

Bushnell Tac Optics Lil’ P(rism) Baby Scope
jtallen83 posted a topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
This thing is tiny! When they say 8 ounces they must be using the heavier high mount because what I put on doesn't feel anywhere near a half pound. Zeroed in short order even with the obligatory wrong way adjustments. The reticle is multi purpose so of course it doesn't do everything great but it is a good balance of speed and precision setups, leaning a bit to the speed side. Zeroed it to shoot with a 22LR conversion in it, best done with the illumination off as it tends to blur the dot into the post of the reticle on all but the lowest settings. No NV compatibility for the illumination. First thing I learned was it is a scope, eye relief and eyebox position matter. Running through the steel fast with the 22LR was pretty easy, it will work with the Binion method just have to have one of those open eyes in the right place behind the scope. Switching to 5.56 at 100 yards really drove home the difference with a red dot, put the dot on one side of the window on these and it was way off the steel. The zero for the 22LR put me about 5 inches low and an inch left with 55gr 5.56 at 100 yards. Now the biggest benefit for me is the crisp reticle, astigmatism gives me some blurry half moon curly cues on red dots, some brands better than others but all give me a bit of distortion. Not in this baby scope, nice crisp and clear. I will bang it around some, hand it over to Grandkids repeatedly, then report back later on how it holds up. https://www.bushnell.com/products/red-dots/tac-optics/tac-optics-red-dot-lil-p-prism-sight/ -

Omaha's Brickway Brewery Coffee Vanilla Stout, Omaha, NE. Has a smokey chocolate aroma, hints of caramel. Healthy smoke component to the flavor, not heavy just healthy, mostly up front giving a dark chocolate flavor that fades into coffee and vanilla. There is a caramel/toffee thing happening in there as well. A good bit of carbonation, more than I usually see with this style beer. A touch of sweet and a bit of bitter, very well balanced for rapid consumption.

Wal-mart making BIG GUN CHANGES

This should have been highlighted as well, we all know this call for "debate" is a prelude to more divide and conquer politics by the establishment. Bizzare thing this drive to disarm as a response to armed scum, in way back history giving up your arms was the prelude to slavery. -
Very similar but more even heat. The good ones were wrapped in several layers of foils then covered in fresh asphalt in the corner of a paver box and left alone for the day. The bad ones were the ones that got messed with so the nasty asphalt fumes got inside, not the smoked taste you want!
-
I have had some great ribs cooked in an asphalt paver, also had some really bad ribs cooked in an asphalt paver

Within a few weeks, about the same time PSA announced the new gen 3 release and adding a big boy buffer tube wasn’t on the list of improvements! I would say glad I put a spare on the shelf but already looking for other parts to keep it company,
-
Good stuff, I have several receiver sets and a couple more to complete. Never had an issue, There tolerances seem to be pretty tight most times, put good parts in them and it will feel as good as some at twice the price.

Don't Fear The Blender, Tropical Fruit Smoothie IPA from Clown Shoes in Massachusetts. The aroma is dead on the label, all that fruit is right there on the nose, it smells sweet. Flavor is the same, ticks off all the fruits on the label, even has a little Juicy Fruit gum note. Not as sweet as it smells, at first you get a little of the fruity sweet but it rapidly goes to a fresh hops dank, pine, citrus pith, those notes, not overbearing bitter just enough to balance out the fruity sweet and let you know it's a beer not a smoothie. I find myself taking deep swigs of this one……..

Just that, you set them up, balance the gas with the weight, spring strength, etc. I have a low mass build thread in the black rifle section. Problem is you are basically setting up the rifle to run good under one certain gas pressure, I only run one round, a Federal 55 grain 5.56, other ammo has function issues without making adjustments. Even then I see marks on the brass indicating early extraction. and almost forgot one of the more critical ingredients for a low mass lightweight build, MONEY. 308 AR's are different but most of the principals carry over, you will find copious amounts of reading here on the buffer system, gas system, etc. Speaking of we would need the details of your present system.

Funny you say that, I wanted to do this 5 pork butts thing all at one time, Iowa farmer old school, dig a pit in the backyard, big ass fire, throw in some big round rocks with MORE wood, level an even bed of coals and rocks, line hole with green corn stalks, wrap the meat in wet burlap, pile it up, corn, potatoes, carrots, etc. top with stalks, layer of damp cloth, big sheet of roofing tin, bury, dig up and eat in about 10-12 hours. Used to do this with 75 pound or so whole hogs. I was told no digging in the backyard by the wife, 😤 Also reminds me I have to get more Altoids tin fire starter kits for the kids at Christmas, hands down the ones I handed out last year were a hit still here the women telling me it will be my fault when something burns down. Thought about showing them friction fire but then I remembered how bad making a friction fire sucks, we'll just talk about that one...............

I bet one of those grills would make things simpler........🤔 #2 down, I'm told for sure three more, gotta dance with who I brung.
