  1. Welcome from Iowa!
  2. Wilson Combat put several lengths of rail back up on their 75% off page. They are rock solid rails, just ordered my 4th one, two in each platform. https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Misc/products/1185/
  3. Something doesn't sound right there, 20 in Lbs should be tight enough you can't move the scope around.
  4. Welcome! I'll start with the word police thing, you do not have an AR-10, AR-10 denotes an Armalite rifle, you have a 308AR, LR-308, DPMS pattern rifle. Seems trivial but when buying parts it can matter. What brand receivers? How is the barrel fit in the upper, tight, loose? I assume the headspace checked out? Check the usual suspects, loose mounting of the optic, condition of the barrel crown. Inspect an unfired round, after it has been fed, for any damage to the bullet. I'm sure others will be along shortly with more questions or answers.
  5. I would run it first and see if you have an issue. If you decide you need a high pressure bolt take a look at Fulton, they have a sweet looking bolt for a real fair price. https://www.fulton-armory.com/bolttitanstripped-1-1.aspx
  6. They back their stuff. Got a 300 NO barrel with muzzle threads that were not concentric to the bore, suppressor wouldn’t line up. They had a new one in my hands in under a week that passed the gauge test with flying colors.
  7. That has been the issue I saw. About 15 years ago or so I got a Tasco scope that had some sort of rubberized finish on it, it was fine until I got some Hoppes on it and tried to wipe it off, every bit that saw the solvent turned sticky.
  8. You miss the whole point, which is to do the best we can to prevent guys from buying the wrong parts. You call it whatever you want just don't be shocked when it is corrected here.
  9. Stay out of East St. Louis. Avoid anything around the airport if possible. Those were the only areas I had issues in when working there.

Got it on mine, 8 hrs at as close to 275 as I could mange and kept the smoke rolling all day, foil packets of pellets and apple chips. Basted it in the drippings every hour or so, also foiled up about every air gap feasible.

One down, 3-4 more to go. Got a good bark on it and still lots of juice coming out after it hit the cooler. I have to convince the women we need at least one with a hotter rub, they demanded one from a local company, Cookies, it is tasty but just your Northern Midwest old fart heat level.
  12. I love that SBA3 brace, I keep the ATF letters with me just like my tax stamps, stash miniature copies all over, glove box, gun case, gun safe, etc. "Officer, I have a copy of the ATF approval letter right here.............." https://www.sb-tactical.com/resource-category/atf-letter/
  13. Right where it should be, gotta get my second barrel mocked up and see what the deal is.
  14. Excellent news So glad you were able to replicate the shorty results I had! Now you just need a can on that thing and a schit pile of ammo! I took my Sig 716 out this afternoon and got the crap beat out of my shoulder compared to the DI version. I am going to take both versions out tonight and see if it was just my imagination. Also noticed a good case of gas face that I don't recall with the DI version, this should be the opposite in both respects according to traditional opinion. Still gotta get this gas tube length difference figured out, hate to strip down my built shorty but really want to see the differences. @Albroswift got a picture of you gas tube end in the cut out?
  15. What are you starting with? Give the inside depth of the buffer tube, buffer weight, and spring length with coil count. PSA has used a variety of parts, no real consistency so knowing what you have to start with is a must. That said getting the whole Armalite receiver extension/buffer kit would be a plus. I noticed Armalite raised the price $10 since the last kit I bought, PSA has been good for business! https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/

Bet that’s why the old man never gets a bark at all, he keeps a pan of water in the bottom just above his chip tray. I don’t have any issues holding moisture, keeping airflow down is usually my battle. Hope to try one on Sunday, then report back for more advice if needed

I have enough Dillo dust to get at least one rubbed. 10 MBT's and never got another one 😞
  19. My little Brother does about 13 acres of veggies for his organic fruit and vegetable business. He uses the same approach, cover the dirt, keep it off the plants, water with drip lines under the cover. He grows mostly heirloom variety tomatoes and doesn't use chemicals. Occasionally he has some small bug problems but no problem with disease. Along with this he rotates the locations regularly.

Water or should I put something else in it? I have not had the best luck getting a good bark in the past, always a good looking smoke ring but the bark was never as hearty as I like.

Thank you Sir, wife says shoulder so figured butts would be the answer, I don't dare say anything negative about big butts in front of her.
  23. I will take that as well. PM inbound
  24. I will take the BUIS and the Armorer's course book. What do you have on the Tac-Ops CH?
