  1. at least as well as the NFA........... Government cannot be trusted to get anything right or actually do what they agreed to do.
  2. I prefer to call them ND’s but yes I have seen a couple and been responsible for one. I am not a fan of crutches, take them away and people are much more likely to have issues, gives them a false sense of security. Plus I am against almost anything that interferes with Darwin’s work.
  3. Why not just teach trigger discipline?
  4. Everyone makes mistakes, I vote for a probationary period...........one more like that and a BAN!
  5. Nope, just need to repeal the NFA!
  6. I would second the BONE. Bought one for each platform after a BOTACH CRT tool broke in half on me and 98 recommended it as a replacement. The BONE isn't going to break and does a good job as well as doubling as a T handle for my Otis cleaning kits, 98 leads the way, again
  7. Not enough for a firm thumbs up yet but after a few hours use at the range everything seems solid, no negatives beyond the original impressions have arisen. If I don't look I can't tell I am not using my Atlas. I can lean on it hard, hard enough I lay off for fear of tweaking my rail. I won't be totally sold until I have run it a year or so but great kit for a start.
  8. I can see this comment leading to confusion; "Capable of digesting everything from a short- to long-action cartridges, the AR-10 has chewed through ammunition as diverse as the iconic .30-06 to modified .45-70 Govt., and even .338 Lapua Magnum. Definitely an asset in a landscape where shooters demand specific rifles, calibers and configurations to meet their purposes." Thankfully they go in depth on the difference between AR-10 and LR 308.
  9. One step at a time. They just hate the idea that we can have most of a rifle shipped to us with no trail. Add in the 80% deal and they get livid. They want that paper trail, wonder why they think they need that??!?!?
  10. What's like for compartments inside?
  11. It may not have been out of nowhere for many in power. There were warnings and missed opportunities on many levels; http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v04/v04p391_Greaves.html https://formerspook.blogspot.com/2011/12/preventing-pearl-harbor.html http://www.fdrlibrary.marist.edu/archives/pdfs/pearlharbor.pdf
  12. Post links to exactly what you are referring to, some may have fluting. Why not purchase the barrel through the affiliate link on this site, it helps the site?
  13. I lived that schit for a few years, thankfully I avoided the jail thing long enough to grow up. Fun while it lasted though, trailer parks make me smile
  14. Love me some TPB!
  15. Atacs Fg but only because I have a rifle in this pattern.
  16. I have a Truglo front sight, not a big fan. It works great for low light situations with quick point shooting. Easy to pick up but hard to be precise with. That fine dot looks interesting, pricey though. So far I am leaning towards the KNS set, variety of 7 different posts for around $30. With these I can figure out what size I like then get a properly shaped NM post from WOA if needed.
  17. Armalite has pretty much completed their move so parts availability is not an issue like it was.
  18. Awesome little mini fire kit for a bug out bag; https://www.beachintactical.com/product-page/beachin-tactical-exteme-firekit-mini
  19. Drier all around climate helps as well. I used to go to antique tool auctions there because the condition of the old steel was miles above what I found in the mid-west.
  20. Lucked into an Armalite M-15A2 NM upper from about 2000. Less than 100 rounds through it so it is looking pretty shiny yet. The original owner lost the front sight post after he pulled it to add his preferred sight when new, kept the post he had put in it, he preferred the little ball on a post sight. It has a hooded aperture rear sight on it which I have zero experience with. I am hoping to solicit some recommendation for a front post on this rig, take into account my eyes are getting old and were never that great. looking like I will need to learn a different system to adjust these sights but they sound like the schit for irons. I have seen some sets from KNS with 7 different posts, leaning that way but wanted to see if there are other recommendations first. I don't have it in hand yet as I had it shipped to my house, still trying to sort out what it has for a barrel, they could only tell me it was a heavy barrel. I gather the barrel markings are under the FF tube, goggle research suggests it may be a Douglas .223 chambered barrel with 1-8 twist.
  21. I'm thinking that is where "Certified Evil" came from, poop will sneak up on you!
  22. Must be a brand related deal, I am still waiting for these benefits on my Sig 716, so far the difference is negligible. It is a jam-O-matic..........
  23. Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri!
  24. Fulton Armory puts out a BCG that is very similar to the JP, a very well done part. https://www.fulton-armory.com/boltcarriergroupcompletetitanincludesboltcomplete-2.aspx
  25. I am an Armalite fan, no doubt. My last 308AR had no Armalite parts but nothing close to the DPMS recoil system either, Vltor receiver extension, Tubbs spring, and a PWS H3 buffer. I much prefer the options I have available when using the longer extension, adding tungsten weights instead of buying a whole new heavy buffer. When asked to list parts for friends and family builds I list the AR-10 system, not because I am a fan but because it simplifies the process, I know it will work for them and I don’t have to spend time researching some part they found on sale. Nothing against DPMS.
