  1. Welcome from Maryland.
  2. You said it's a Trijicon. It'll be ok. They make pretty stout stuff. You could spike my ACOG that I have on a 10 carbine like a football, and that thing would keep working. This is actually a pretty sweet deal that you've stumbled across brother. Like I said earlier, I'd pounce on that for sure. Hell, these days, that price is good just for the rifle. You add in the optic.....it just pumps up the value of the deal. And don't underestimate the mags that your friend is gonna get to you. The 10B mags are solid. Hell, I've got those things piled up ass high to a 6 foot Indian (no offense intended Magwa ). I've never had an issue with ANY of my 20 rounders. They just work.
  3. So I made some more progress. She's coming together pretty good and almost complete. I've just gotta slap the muzzle device on her in the morning. After that, I'll wait until next Saturday to take her up to my gun pusher, so he can fondle her a little too, and see what kind of glass that he may have. I've been trying to throw money at him during this build, since I haven't been up to his shop since last year when I bought that AR-31 off of him. Tried to give him the PRI sale, but he stopped being a dealer for them a while back. So, I'll give him a shot with the glass. He was pushing Sig optics (along with others) the last time I bought an optic off of him. He's not a Nightforce dealer anymore either, so he better hope that I don't decide to put an NXS scope on this thing. I was eye-ballin one on Primary Arms. Yeah , yeah, I know.....you guys are saying enough with the jaw-jacking and get to the rifle porn. So................... Charging handle, since I didn't specify before. On the operating table just after getting the handguard and gas system in place. And a full on side view. Like I said. Muzzle device in the AM and then it's on to optics. As you were ladies.
  4. I'd jump all over that deal all day long. It's easy to change barrels if you end up not liking the 20"
  5. Yeah. Same here. I'm a big fan of the stuff they make. But the prices can kill you. That being said. They make some great barrels. I've used their barrels in all of my SBR builds over the years.
  6. Yeah, I forgot to throw the charging handle on that pile, but I've got it. I appreciate the offer of a gas tube my man. BUT, the R2 theory of being stupid, had me stumble across the gas tube finally yesterday evening as I was cleaning up after putting all the tools away. It was hidden in some of the packing paper. As usual, I almost threw it away as I was breaking down the box that the barrel came in. I thought that I had ordered the gas tube with the barrel. So, now we'll carry on.
  7. Anything can be fixed. Well, for the most part they can. Either way, this crowd will get it running for you.
  8. Current gas prices in the DC area.
  9. That'll keep Tom off of your subway for sure.
  10. So I go stumbling through the door of my local gun pusher. Wait...no.....wrong story. (you long time members will get that) So I'm finally getting around to building this thing. I've been sitting on the majority of the parts for a little over a year. So I figured that today is the day to get this bitch together. All I gotta do is make this......... ...........turn into a functional rifle. Seems straight forward enough, even for a window licking, cherry flavored crayon eater like me. So, it's been a while since I built my last rifle. I almost forgot how much of a bitch those damn trigger pins can be sometimes. Of course, the first time they damn near fell in. Then, following the typical R2 pattern of luck and stupidity model,. I forgot to put the safety selector in first. No biggie. So I Pop the pins back out and slap in the selector. Trigger pin slides in like butter. Then I proceed to fumble with the F#*@ing hammer pin for 15 minutes. Walk away, take a couple of deep soothing breaths, get a drink of water and return. Hammer pin slides in. FUKER! So, at this point, the lower is complete. Yea! So I go to start working on the upper. NOW. Take a good look at that first picture and tell me if you see what I'm missing. I'll wait. (insert jeopardy music here) OK. I'll let you in on it, since I can tell that you're on the edge of your seat? The FUKING gas tube. How do I not have a fuking gas tube in stock? You've GOT to be fukin kiddin me. Un-Fucking-believable. Can't really get too far with the upper build without the gas tube. It's kinda like an important part if you weren't aware. So, it looks like I'll return to this later. Where's my fukin beer at? Armalite SPR lower, Armalite upper, Armalite LPK Standard A2 stock, Hogue grip, Toolcraft BCG, Geissele SSA-E trigger Ballistic advantage 18" 1 in 8 twist stainless 6.5 Grendel barrel, with NO FUKIN GAS TUBE! PRI gen 3 handguard, PRI top rail, PRI flip up sight/gasblock, PRI flip up rear sight, PRI charging handle Did I say no fukin gas tube? Atlas bipod, AAC compensator (going with this for my cans) And still no FUKIN gas tube. I haven't decided yet on what glass that I'm gonna put on top of this bastard yet. I've got it narrowed down to about 4 different optics. Shocker.....somehow I always seem to pick expensive $hit. Fuk me four ways from Sunday. I'll let you all stew on which four they could possibly be for a while. That's enough for now. As you were ladies.
  11. And THAT, is nothing bu the truth.
  12. Yep. Just delete them. We all know what sites we use.
  13. Grandkids are the best. I've been told that I spoil mine here and there. My oldest granddaughter, Maggie (she's 6), all she has to do is look at me and I hand over my wallet.
  14. Good job my man. We all learned, at some point, that these bigger AR's are a complete different animal than their little brothers. Like 98 said. That's what this site is here for. Oh.....and stop hand-jobbing him. Never forget that he's our kind of a$$hole.
  15. That's always the default answer around here.
  16. Welcome aboard from Maryland. Also, welcome to the world of 308 AR's.
  17. You ain't foolin nobody fuker. You're still working on something somewhere. The price is right. Yeah right.

Yeah, realistically, he is trying to keep up with Matt with the overall family head count.
  19. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  20. That looks like a nice optic dude. The price doesn't hurt either.
  21. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  22. Welcome from Maryland.
  23. A tip of the hat, and a big ol shout out to my man William Shatner. The Shat-man is 90 years old today. Yep, you heard it right. The original, ONE and ONLY, green-babe bangin, cosmic dick slingin Captain of the Enterprise.
  24. Welcome from Maryland.
