Can't go wrong with an M1A/M14. They're sexy and reliable rifles. As far as price, it all depends on if you're comfortable with it. Prices in general seem to be just now starting to come back down. You could always give it a bit. Also, a 16" barrel can still reach out and touch something. My AR-10 12" SBR was banging steel at 500 yards at the super secret desert facility a couple years back.

Nice rifle my man. And yes. That's a "10-B" pattern. It'll take the 10B mags on the Armalite website all day long. Great mags. I've never had an issue, and I've got a metric $hit ton of them for all of my "10-B" variants.

I don't run an MOE stock on anything. But my guess would be no, you don't need it. Especially if the new stock won't fit on there without removing it. They call that in police work.....a clue.
