    STOL

We had the Harriers on my ship when they took off it wasn't so bad but when they come in for a landing at full power even with our hearing protection those things were LOUD. On my last deployment before I separated we over due for dry dock but a little skirmish called Desert Storm broke out so when the harriers tried to take off the nonskid on the flight deck started to peel off fodding the engines, after loosing 4 engines they grounded them.
  2. And Robo scared another one off
  3. This I didn't know you guy's grew those things so big
  4. I think we can suffer a little while you give em hell. Good luck and let us know how it went. I like the new look
  5. Post it that would be so cool <thumbsup> Did she ever talk about building them?
  6. I managed to get my seating depth test done before the rains moved in it was kinda touch and go with Chronograph today started to sprinkle and I thought I was going to have to put it up but wouldn't be able to until the range officer called a cold range. It looks like 2.800" is what my gun likes with load but I'm need an opinion on what I should do <dontknow> I took measurements with an comparitor and I like what I see with the 2.210" but going with that means higher ES & SD numbers. So here's the pics and tell me what you guy's would choose?
  7. Well I managed to get out today and shot some of these 168gr loads over the chrony today so this should clear up whether CFE 223 is temp. sensitive or not and the verdict is yes. 6/6/12 temp 85* avg vel. 2642 6/30/12 temp 100* avg vel. 2655 7/11/12 temp 95* avg vel 2663 3/9/13 temp 55* avg vel 2605 So I would say for every degree of change you'll get 1 fps change. I ran 14 rounds across the chrony this time and my SD was still 10 so its a consistent load even with the temp. change.
  8. Here you go 98 may I present you the Rand girls. This is a small sample of the pics in this book. It was used as a recruiting tool to show women back then that they could work with machinery to produce what I think is one of the best if not thee best WWII 1911a1 pistols.
  9. Keep your nuts this one goes to my son after I he throws dirt in my face. One thing that I have with it is a reproduction of a book with pictures of the Remington Rand plant with Rosy the gun maker I'll see if I can get a pic up of the women that made the guns of freedom. Man thats a beautiful 1903. I need to start growing my WWII collection.
  10. Seeing some of the stupid gun laws the Demorats try to come up with I wouldn't doubt its real. Just another money grab.

  12. Praying for you brother <thumbsup> hope you get it.
  13. Looks like a fun combination there <thumbsup> When you get done dressing her for the prom you'll have to post some pics of them together.
  14. Well let keep with the WWII classics and here's my 1944 Remington Rand <thumbsup> [img width=810 height=607]http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac176/seasprite/Remington%20Rand%2045/DSCF2371.jpg You know that M1 Garand would go great with my 1911a1 ;D

    Crimping

I had the opposite problem when the bolt slammed the round in the chamber the bullet slid out a little. Kinda like using a kinetic puller.
  16. Like the comments said the libs were robed of more chances to take our guns away like those nasty .22 revolvers, so lets hang the kids that saved a life :cookoo:
  17. Hell ya way to go Magpul flood the state before you leave <thumbsup>
  18. Of course those of us that watch racing and have for a long time understand that watching a race has some risk but so does going to the store to get a loaf of bread and as you stated racing has gotten a lot safer than years past. But in true fashion the MSM will take advantage of the situation. Sound strangely famular. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nascar/2013/02/23/daytona-fans-injured-wreck-crash-nationwide-race-safety-catchfence/1942087/
  19. Nice now I have another one to consider <thumbsup> Don't know why I didn't even think of Browning thanks.
  20. I think every household should have a lever gun they make a great deer rifle fun to plink with and you just can't get anymore American than a lever gun <thumbsup> I would like to get .22 lever gun either an older Marlin 39a or a Winchester I haven't decided which yet probably won't till late in the year before I do. This is my current lever gun a Winchester 94ae (30-30) I know alot of you guy's hate scopes on lever guns but this one shoots MOA at 100 yards with factory ammo <thumbsup> I need to start reloading for it. As far the Marlins go I've decided to stick with the older ones that were made before Remington took over that way you only have to worry about Bubba the gunsmith and then you should be able to see his signature dremel marks on it ;)
  21. What are the chances that sequestration will kill this contract?
  22. They wouldn't pull out of the US altogether would they? <dontknow> Its a shame this government is all about ruining people's lives in stead of serving the people.
  23. Strange you didn't catch it before hand especially since you were able to reseat it with finger pressure. How many loadings on that piece of brass? I want to get a pin gauge to use as go no go for the primer pockets.
  24. I bet my skeet shooting would improve with that. :o
