  1. Rub it in! Seriously, congrats bro! That is great news!
  2. Welcome from North of Shepp and thank you for your service. I am a late family man as well.
  3. try some good ammo now. What is your barrel twist?
  4. Pricey but it's a "B"
  5. More want it in case I need to loan it to my gunsmith for any potential work, in addition to thinking about finding an old AR10 "B" model and do an experimental build/upgrade. New barrel, nitrided BCG, Shortened barrel, new buffer and spring, adjustable gas block and a can. Thinking maybe 338 Federal.
  6. Welcome from Wisconsin. Look forward to hearing the results and range report.

I have a cheap one and your right. Get a better quality one. I am still looking.
  8. Does it clamp over the flash hider? Or is it a screw on replacement? From the sounds of it it goes over it.
  9. Not to mention figure out how to conceal carry a 60kw generator.
  10. Good question, I am not a physicist. The point is, I am betting all major powers are investigating laser countermeasures as we speak. There are pretty good algorhythms that can predict a weapons life cycle and effectiveness during its service life. I would like to see them for directed energy weapons, but you can bet they are highly classified.
  11. Ok you put a laser wavelength diffraction coating on a missile. We are back to square one.
  12. Interesting! Made in Switzerland, so the engineering is probably pretty darn good. Nice looking SBR, by the way, a very handsome weapon. Can't get foreign cans here, but a company CCF reportedly licensed some of their designs and sold them here about ten years ago. I don't know what the status is now.
  13. That's because Obama is tapping it.
  14. Difference between 50 and 60 is substantial. Difference between 60 and 68, which I am now, is mind blowing. At 59, last year I practiced Uechi Ryu, I could still kick head height with force, and was still splitting boards and blocks. Head kicks were mostly for show, as the infighting techniques taught nothing higher than abdominal kicks. Now, with one back, one abdominal, two wrist, and one foot surgery done in the last five years and a shoulder surgery coming up, ain't gonna happen. All that repeated trauma and sins of youth come back for their payback. Snake, your right about most people telegraphing their intentions. Know your enemy before they realize they are your enemy.

    Outstanding!
  16. Plus it's half the price of the Armalite Barrel nut wrench, and can be used with 3/8" or 1/2" torque wrenches. Armalite's is 1/2" only.
  17. For those of you working on AR10's, here is a well priced barrel nut wrench. http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx It works with a 3/8 or a 1/2 inch torque wrench and is reversible to fit either the old or new AR10 barrel nuts. $24.99
  18. Gun doesn't come out until I feel my life is threatened or my loved ones. There won't be warning shots. A gun is not a negotiation tool if you are carrying it for personal protection. It is a last resort.
  19. Good luck by the way. And keep us posted on what you get and how you like it. A lot of knowledgeable people here as you can see that can help steer you the right direction. And a few like me along for the ride.
  20. Welcome from Wisconsin.
  21. Both those are great powders. Can add Reloader 15 to that as well. Never used Ramshot Tac. Stay away from DeKalb powders, unless you like corn.
  22. I kind of doubt it, the AR15 patents didn't expire I don't think untill the ban was in place. 98 or one of the other really knowledgeable guys probably know. The only pre ban AR15's I have seen, including mine, are Colt.
  23. Sorry to hear that Hemi. I am with DNP on this one. Maybe we should start thinking of setting up a 308AR charitable trust to do just that. We have some experienced people on this forum, and no shortage of fallen LEO families out there, and other people to help. Just sayin.
  24. DeKalb must have gotten into the powder business.
