Mikedaddy: WTF a pedophile van? Thats more like a good range target. Nice truck Shepp, May it serve you well.
  2. Nothing wrong with the "it takes a village" comment, because it is true. The problem is that people got away from that, which is the traditional manner of raising kids. Everyone watches out for each others kids to keep them from harm and on the straight and narrow. Unfortunately the whole "Great Society" concept of LBJ really weakened that in this country and has got weaker ever since. Strong caring communities make for strong individuals, but it's not mandated by social welfare programs, it;s mandated by caring people helping each other when the need arises like Rob is doing.

  5. Spoken like someone who just got a nice fire engine red Toyota pickup.
  6. Ice fishermen are out this morning, but not going out to the edge of open water on Superior. Guy went through the ice a couple of days ago. Fortunately two other guys with float coats and PFD's went in after him and got him out. Lost his snowmobile.Winnebago and Mille Lacs both get those monster ice shoves. When I lived outside Minneapolis I lost a roll o dock to them one year.

    Congrats Brother, nice looking truck.
  8. 44 magnum. Only 6, but what a six. Always have my 45 acp officer for backup.
  9. Welcome.
  10. I got the same initials. And the same amount.
  11. Can't remember if this one bee's posted
  12. Your right there. I used to get their Carhartt type line of work jackets and bibs. Good stuff at a third of the price, no more.
  13. Free Willy? I thought that was another term for spanking the monkey. You mean there's a movie by that name? Great poster though Blue. Buy it Plane.
  14. Went into Cabelas for the first time in a couple of years. What happened to this once proud store? Semi empty shelves, over priced merchandise, clerks who didn't bother to make eye contact and mumbled ( I think)" Can I help you?". And absolutely no customers! You could have fired a cannon down the aisles and not hit anyone! I always thought they were a bit too pricey, but at least the service was good, but now even the bargain cave is overpriced! I heard they got bought by Bass Pro Shops, and from what I saw, that is probably a good thing.
  15. I just found out we are getting 12 inches of snow on Friday! It's 54 right now!
  16. Somebody's " Putin" in her a little too often.
  17. Correction: Beaner, mine is a 3x9 not a 3x10.
  18. I am going to have to wait a while to try these guys, not because I don't want to. My wife's president of a local women's club, and they have a fund raising deal for scholarships with a local coffee roaster. So we get our beans from them and help send some local kids to college. I certainly intend to try in the future however.
  19. The mother lode of service manuals on everything. http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/MILITARY/
  20. Trigger is in! My LGS guy had to dremel the one sided pin, then it popped right out. The pin just held it by pressure against the inside of the lower receiver. New trigger dropped right in. Came with antirotation pins for whatever reason. The pull is nice and crisp. Have to get used to only 3.5 lbs pressure needed rather than 8. Also be careful until I am used to it. A very quick, short reset. Once its range tested, thinking I will get another for my Oly AR15.
  21. Nice. I was looking at a 45acp complete Oly AR at the LGS yesterday. I got to admit I was tempted.
  22. Actually those are the standard floating targets the US Navy uses. Both the towed one and the boat/drone. The munitions were a nice added touch. How about frying the electronics of Sukhoi SU-24's when they do a flyby? Which they are doing a lot of lately.
  23. Welcome from Wisconsin II.

    Grilling

Stuff is addicting. Used brushed on egg whites to get a really crispy crust, and have the outside lightly covered with kosher salt. All you need is a little butter. If the loaf lasts past noon tomorrow I will be surprised. Got a little starter from my shooting buddy, then I fed and nurtured it until I had enough for a loaf. Going to build up my starter for the next couple of days.
