Up here the Bears, Coyotes, Wolves, Bobcats, Foxes(yes foxes) and Cougars are responsible for fawn mortaility in that order, with Bears number one.

Like I said, I never lived in rural Florida. Maybe it happens there. I did live in rural northwoods Wisconsin and Northwoods Minnesota, and for all the wolves, coyotes and dogs I have seen, I have never been attacked, except by two inner city dogs at two separate times. In Minnesota, if a warden finds dogs chasing deer, they by law have to shoot them. To Be honest you probably do have a better chance of being attacked by a pack of dogs than a pack of wolves or coyotes. I have been surrounded by coyotes while field dressing a deer and never felt threatened. They just waited to get to the gut pile. Now Cougars? They are another story. I have watched one shadow me out in Montana on a backpacking trip, and he wasn't particularly afraid, and didn't seem to care I saw him. I Was packing a .357 with jacketed soft points and was glad I had it. He finally left after an hour of following me. From my experience, I would take a story about wild dog attacks with a grain of salt, because it does not fit my experience. But I certainly don't rule it out completely.

Actually that is what the adapter is for. it puts the gas block on the same plane as the rail the rear sight sits on. Then you add the 45 degree offset BUIS of your choice. Or standard BUIS for that matter. I have included a picture.

Thanks for the response. I went back through the optical section and saw nothing on them, so i guess I am obligated to write up a report and review when I get them.

Has any one used the Yankee Hill Machine gas block adapters on their AR10? I want to mount some 45 degree offset BUIS on both my AR10 and AR10T , and as I don't currently have full length picatinny rails, need to get them on the same sight plane, front and back.

An aquaintance got a case from eating Elk he shot in Colorado. It is very similar to Jakob Creutzfeldt Syndrome, or Mad Cow Disease. Caused by a Prion which is essentially a glorified protein. Can withstand heat to 1600 F so you can't cook it out. Best thing is to inspect the animal for general health and like said above, stay away from organs, brains and bones.

I have an Arsenal AK with a milled reciever my son has adopted. IFirst time I fired it, at 25 meters I couldn't see a hole in the target, than I realized it was a perfect bullseye. Arsenals are all sighted for 25 meters at the factory. It will keep things in a softball sized circle at 100 yards, and for an AK that is fine. They are fun, and cheap. I respect and understand the negative feelings about them a lot of ex servicemen have since they were the weapon of the enemy. That said, Mikhail Kalishnakov put together a weapon that met the mission requirements of the Soviets and then some.

Agree, for no other reason then I value my AR10's more than my other rifles,and I like to reload. But my AK gets nothing but steel and works fine.

At a certain point, it is not hard to take some stories with a huge grain of salt. I have been attacked by dogs twice in my younger days, but they were both in an urban setting, by individual dogs. I find it hard to beli ve that if a pack of wild dogs were attacking people, that the DNR or local government wouldn't be set to exterminate them. With all due respect Ma Deuce, it is a tough story to believe. But I have never lived in rural Florida either.

Although I am an Armalite fan, I am going to wait and see what the Army Marksmanship Unit adopts before I jump on the bandwagon. The extras look good, but unless they improve the accuracy or handling, they are window dressing. At this stage of the game I like what I got, and want to see some proof they are actually better for what you have to spend.

Same here, but that is just me and I have never had any 308 but Armalite. Couldn't tell you a thing about Bushmaster from personal experience, either good or bad. Can say I have over 1000 rounds in two AR10's without one FTF or FTE, or any problem of any sort.

Didn't by chance write down the model numbers? Then we could compare apples to apples. Sounds like the Bushmaster had a magpul or Ergo style stock. I shoot Armalite myself and am partial to them, but if the Bushmaster had extras on it it might be a good deal.

Use the same press, works great for the price. If you are using the scale that came with it, borrow a scale to make sure it is accurate. Mine was plus or minus 2 grains! That is just way too much. I went to a digital scale. And I have a lot more peace of mind.

Have to try that, I am still using the lube pad.

Great area except for California government. My sister used to live in the area between Mendocino and Ukaiah in the redwoods. Pretty area up there, but you had to be damn careful where you walked. Think you know why. Always liked Sonoma valley before it got "discovered".
