  1. You live in an amazing area. Not a city person, but Vancouver is probably my favorite. Is “A Kettle of Fish” restaurant still in business? Had a memorable meal there long ago.
  2. Near Horseshoe Bay? We had 50 mph winds and 2 inches of rain on Saturday into Sunday. Heck of a storm surge. Came within 5 feet of the palm trees in front. Been way cooler than normal this winter in the Panhandle. Space X 9 splashed yesterday 50 miles south of us. Couldn’t see it though.
  3. Cool project, and one that could be useful.

    Pasties

So if the hostess is wearing pasties, will she still give you a hand pie with meat?

    Pasties

Had a few yep. Like them, but not with rutabagas for some reason. Can buy them premade in the grocery stores up here as well as a few of the local restaurants. And always present at church bake sales. Those look really good! Also like empanadas. Got into those when I went to Argentina.
  6. It is already happening. And the U.S. government, the Chinese, and ALL the social media companies are enabling it in their lust for more information about each of us. But to paraphrase T.S. Elliot, it won’t happen with a bang, but with a whimper. They won’t need to pull a Sky Net nuclear attack, they will neutralize us one by one, quietly and quickly.
  7. Awesome Brother!
  8. For her think about a 20 gauge Remington 870 with a buck barrel and a red dot. Just sold one a while back. Can get smaller stocks for those as well. Slugs, buckshot, whatever.
  9. “Greyhound” Another excellent Tom Hanks WWII movie. This one about the battle of the North Atlantic. On Apple TV.

    Thanks guys.

    Grilling

My butcher calls it a “Rib Steak” I have been in restaurants that call it a “Kansas City Cut” or a “Bone in Ribeye”. Whatever they call it, it is one of my favorite cuts. Having one from our steer tonight to celebrate my birthday!
  12. Best life skill: To pick up quickly when you”re being played by someone, either male or female. I almost didn’t learn it in time.
  13. Enjoy! Congrats.

    Cull hunt

About the only thing that seems to slow it down is a high wolf population. We haven’t found it by us, but we have a lot of wolves.
  15. I bought my two AR10’s before the company changed hands and moved to Arizona. And that wasn’t one of the models offered so I can’t speak to specifics. I can say my two AR 10’s are of excellent quality and easily MOA accurate. One is a 20” standard rifle and the other an AR10T 16” bull barrel carbine. Mine are the “B” models which use the proprietary magazines. Most 10’s now are the “A” model now using Magpul type AR308 mags. Since they were sold Armalite has become almost a stealth company. I see little in print about them and no advertising. They use a totally different lower and barrel threads so they aren’t really interchangeable with other 308AR equipment for the most part. Update: I loked up on the Internet after writing this and noticed Armalite has relocated again to Texas. Also that their extensive parts section is missing from their new website. If those are no longer available it takes away the best fix for buffer and spring problems in 308ARs.

    I'm Back Baby!

    Outstanding! Elk is the best!
  17. Turtle soup is great stuff!
  18. In this day and age you need extensive documentation that really happened, as well as a completely trusted source. Not saying it didn’t happen, but like a lot of Ukrainian evidence videos, Russian evidence videos are faked as well. Skepticism is man’s best friend now a days. I do know there is a bit of skepticism in U.S. military circles about whether hypersonic missiles are all they are cracked up to be.
  19. Northern Lights and Saturn tonight
  20. Truth
  21. Popular Mechanics just had an article about the Chinese sub that sank. Apparently it is the first model of a reduced size nuclear attack sub, and the reactor may still be on board.
  22. The more I investigate hypersonic weapons, the more they seem like a two edged sword. They are fast, but you can’t hide them. The Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile has proven to be a bit of an overhyped weapon system. Fast but not really maneuverable. A lot still to learn as there is a theory that the plasma bow wave caused by hypersonic missiles makes an air to air weapons lock difficult. In the Kinzhal’s case the Patriot seems to have no trouble locking on. With the amount of corruption in the Chinese military, and the pressure to meet expectations or else, I think there is a good chance there is a lot of hype about them to help the manufacturers save their own necks.
  23. 49 miles to our east and we got a 3 foot storm surge that was it. Carolinas got whooped, as did Georgia and the coast on the east side of the eye
  24. Looks like the eye of hurricane Helene will come ashore about 45 miles east of us at 10:00 pm eastern. Hope things hold together.
