    Grilling

The Meat Eater strikes: The local butcher shop had a sale on a whole uncut rack of New York Strip or Ribeye, USDA Choice $8.99 / lb. So I bought one of each and cut them into 2 inch steaks. Let the grilling season begin!
  2. Any held in North America? Seems like an excellent idea. Leave it to the Swiss.
  3. I load up magazines with 200 rounds in 5.56 and 308's cases, and that is it. Pull 4 boxes of 45 and 9 mm or 44 or 22. It is gonna be tough to limit myself but got to do it.
  4. Tempting, but I would hate to decide to go shooting ten years from now, scoot my walker to the safe and find I am out of ammo for just about everything I own. I am putting a yearly limit on what I can shoot in each caliber I have until the supply loosens up. 20% of a caliber and thats it. And next year it may go down to 10%.
  5. These prices are absolutely frickin nuts!
  6. Welcome!
  7. Let 98 know that. He doesn't often get the credit he deserves for the work he puts in. Welcome aboard.
  8. Smith & Wesson’s first time gun buyers drive 102% sales jump (msn.com)
  9. That brass stuff though is good insurance if the steel stuff disappears off the market.
  10. With an AK that is an afternoon’s worth of ammo. At least if my kid is shooting it.
  11. Thank you. The full head of non grey hair throws everyone. i am into age denial as much as I can be.
  12. Just sold my Kel Tec PMR 30 along with 300 rounds of ammo for a lot more then it cost me. Figured that once I shot that ammo, I would have a safe queen for a long time. At 72, I don’t deal in long times any more. I am into instant gratification now.
  13. 14 months ago, I was going through 2 x 50 rd boxes of 45 acp a week. I was paying $11.99/ box. Now I load up 3-8 rd 1911 magazines, shoot it, and call it a day. And go home and reload the brass. And not as often as once a week any more. Until this gets better.
  14. Glad to hear. I am okay myself. Learned my lesson in 2012. Said I would never get caught short again.
  15. Gotta adopt the old stock market creed: "Buy low, sell high" Could make more money reselling Ammo now then you could in the stock market.
  16. I will bring some with in July
  17. I have smoked fish and canned fish but never both together.
  18. Thanks for the suggestion, makes sense.
  19. Going to do a light brine and smoke on some Lake Trout and Coho Salmon this summer then can them.

Looks good! Did you brine the venison? A low fat meat like that would benefit from it. I decided I am going to lightly smoke some lake trout and Coho Salmon this year then put it up in 12 oz canning jars for appetizer food. Tomorrow I am smoking some country style ribs.
  21. If you are leasing your tank, consider buying one as soon as possible. I bought a 500 gallon one 6 years ago and a 1000 gallon one 4 years ago. That way I am not locked into the tank leaser. That saves me an average of 25 cents per gallon right off the top. I joined a local group buy club and we competitively bid for the lowest price, which brings it down even more. With the capacity I have, I fill them in June or July when the price is lowest. This last year I paid 89 cents a gallon. Topped them off at $1.29 a gallon in November, and it is now at 2.39 / gallon. I calculated these tanks have already paid for themselves twice over. You are warmer weather then I have, but you might want to check it out.
  22. My "source" for bulk ammo just sent me these prices. Everything else is out of stock. 1000 9mm $750, 600 5.56 Winchester, $550. A year ago 1000 9mm $149.

Don’t think you need advice you are doing just fine.
  24. I will have to check tomorrow, but I MAY have a box of the 225 grain ELD-M projectiles I bought two years ago when I was experimenting looking for an expandable subsonic load for my 300 Blk. Before deciding a bullet designed for a 300 WM would never open up at those velocities. If I do I will PM you and it’s yours for what I paid for it plus postage.
  25. Walkers are good got a pair last year in Florida.
