  1. I second that but a few of us were simply commenting about the respect that past snipers deserve who have used far less tech to hold the stats that have been documented. Common sense does dictate that the war continues and media formats would likely place modern snipers and their families in danger if numbers were reported.
  2. I couldnt help myself
  3. Greg, don't you dare! That rifle is dangerous to even look at! However, I would buy a Colt AK in a heartbeat (I know you're shocked).
  4. I wouldn't F with her.
  5. Thanks for the post. I'd be willing to try them as long as they provide a wide version. I bought a pair of UnderArmour boots 2 years ago and hated them. I need something with a quick lace up eyelid system and that's lightweight. I wear Cockran IIs for work because I have to but am still looking to have a better sole put on over the Vibrams. I have a friend that works at Reebok in their RD section and put sneaker soles on his jungles back in the day. They were awesome.
  6. Crap, that's a great price. Patience was never my strong suite or I would have saved over a hundred bucks.
  7. Wolf spiders are gross too. A friend of mine found one when we were teenagers and it was close to the size of a baseball (legs included). He spent an hr amusing himself by poking it with a stick. They're fast too.
  8. I have an urge to kill any spider I see because I prefer to not be surprised and let people and dogs be frightened by the girlish screams that might leave my mouth. The brown recluse is nasty and I knew a few guys at basic in Georgia that were bitten. My personal non favs are the camel spider, which I came across in Egypt. F-ing big nasty SOB! The next comes from my wife's homeland of Australia. The huntsman is another big SOB. I can't bring myself to kill a full size adult because I would need a shotgun to take it down. I'd just burn the house down lol. I fear coming across them and the king brown snake everytime I visit family. In fact, it seems that most animals in Australia can kill you (at least snakes). http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-3f99HhlpTo ...they get bigger than the one in that video
  9. I had no desire to see it but needed to kill some time the other day and watched it. If you go in not expecting much, you should enjoy it. The movie was entertaining for a blockbuster style flick. I watch the Walking Dead so any fans of that show should like this movie.

That was f-ing sick! The old saying don't run because you'll only die tired seems appropriate. That man is a bow sniper.

    Heat!

Supposed to be about 100 where I am in Ma tomorrow. I have so much yardwork to get done and I keep having to put it off.

Not that I would ever buy this rag to ever do this but I saw it online and got a chuckle out of it.
  13. I spent way too much time deciding on iron sights when I build mine. I bought some Troy tritium battlesights and am happy with them but will honestly end up moving them to another build, probably for a AR15. They were very expensive and don't even serve much of a purpose on my Mega besides the breakin period of firing. Irons are very overrated on this platform for distance shooting. I see more of a purpose for the KAC offset$ vs anything else. However, it all comes down to personal preference. Some just like having the option and I can't blame them.
  14. Great news, congrats
  15. David, did you do the coating on yours yourself? If not, who did it? Nice rifle.

  18. Great news for me, bad news for my wallet. I have the next 3 years (at least) of disposable income slotted for rifles and scopes since joining this forum. I never thought I'd fill the nice new big safe I bought last year....WRONG!
  19. Wow, I second that statement about at least you and yours are well. I witnessed many incredible lightning strikes while stationed at Ft Carson in CO. Some were less than a 1/4 mile away on open flat land. A couple of guys on base were struck during various lightning strikes while I was there. That sucks about some of your other things being ruined. I protect my living room media stuff with a monster power surge protector. It has clean power stage filtering which also helped my plasma and LCD TVs with color enhancement...don't ask...all I know is that it actually works. Monster is fairly reputable and a little pricey but worth it and I believe it comes with a warranty against damaged property.
  20. That sucks and is a surprising response. I originally would have expected it would have been the bolt because I'm fairly certain that we have the same one. I've mentioned that I had a very tight fit (on 7.62) but never had an issue turning on a go gauge. I would recommend taking it to that gunsmith that we spoke about if your having problems with FA. He's much more experienced in these matters than either of us and might be able to ease your mind and help you out at a minimal cost. However, if he happens to confirm the same results and says there's no way around it without machining work then you might be out even more money. Tough call.
  21. I usually see that for over 5K. It's amazing but that price keeps it out of my hands and only in my dreams.
  22. A few stock configurations are able to support the limbsaver add-on assessory. I don't know how good it is through firsthand knowledge but it's not bad looking and helps with felt recoil. http://www.limbsaver.com/firearms.php
  23. I bought M80 here in MA last month for $42.99 for 50 count box. It went up to $46 for 50 shortly thereafter. I love the stuff and found it to be fairly accurate (with irons only...no scope yet). I can't find even 100 rds of it locally now. Bulk in practically non existent. I have to save up for another toy right now though.
  24. Don't mention it, you live close enough where it's not inconvenient at all and we could diagnose the problem with a quick range trip. The best part is having the security of knowing what the problem is and that your BCG is GTG. You have a nice setup and I'm sure you'll have it up and running in no time.
