  1. 16" barrel has plenty of velocity for 600yds. Reducing weight at the muzzle will feel like a larger weight loss than reducing it closer to you. You'll probably want lower scope rings with the taller .308AR receiver. I know I do compared to my AR-15s. If you want a super light stock, go with the MFT minimalist. If you really want to cut all you can, you can also spend the $ for super lightweight parts from V7 Weapons Systems. I have a bunch of their parts and they're top notch. Reducing kick will be a function of your gas port. Grab an SLR adjustable gas block so you can tune the gas down, thus letting you use a lighter buffer. I recommend going with an AR-10 pattern buffer system so you can try different buffers out cheaply.
  2. Are you saying you shoot fouling shots even if you didn't clean the barrel previously? Why do you need to do that?
  3. Hey now, Amazon's motto might as well be, "All your wallet, are belong to us!"
  4. [sarcasm]Looks like they mixed up the brand stamp at the factory. Don't you know? Leupold, Trijicon, and all those other fancy-pants brands are all made at the same factory as NC Star. NC Star scopes are the same, just without the branding and are just as good as those other brands. Psh, don't waste your money on that overpriced stuff![/sarcasm] From my experiences, US Optics stuff could've been made by NC Star (and they are the same quality!)...
  5. Screw USO. I bought an SR-8S earlier this year and had nothing but problems with it (see my experiences ). USO proved to me that they're incompetent and act like a company that doesn't actually have any engineers (leading me to believe they contract out engineering work). The red dot of the "c" model is cool, but the SR-8 eye box is far too narrow to use it well. I replaced my SR-8S with a March-F 1-8x and have been happy with it. I don't miss the illumination at all. Kelbly's is the only US distributor and when they have sales the price difference between the SR-8 and March-F is small. bmoney got his SWFA 1-6x in the other week. It's sweet. Not super bright, but very functional.
  6. If your 1911 is an "off roster" gun keep it and sell it after the new year since the value will jump.
  7. So you zeroed the rifle at 100yds, then put a laser boresighter in there and then changed the POA of your scope down 7.5" (raises impact 7.5" up from POA)? +2 troll attempt. For the full amount of troll points you should've put it in the general section, not "accurizing .308AR" section. - Troll adjudicator.
  8. Grip or stock!
  9. Technically, you could order the hi-caps and install some mag blocks for him too.
  10. Glad we could help! <thumbsup>
  11. What? No proven "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN_sSXKbzHk?"
  12. I've met too many LEO's who can't tell me the model or caliber of their issued pistol to think that they should have less restrictions than non-LEO/Mil folks.
  13. Does "308AR" work like "M4c" does? :)) If I had to modify my BAD short levers I'd make the ends of them rounded on top like the stock mil-spec selector. I find the corner to be uncomfortable, especially when more leverage is required (the BAD levers don't seem to disengage as easily and I had to cut the springs a bit. Using an NP3 coated detent also helped).
  14. This looks more like a failure to eject to me... The brass clearly comes all the way back with the BCG but then doesn't get flung out. What happens when you hand cycle rounds?
  15. SWEET! I'm totally going to be watching Ayan's FB page for pics of your build. =P
  16. Not to mention the heat treat on those parts doesn't tend to be very deep so you might grind through it.
  17. I'd imagine that'd be just fine with the heavier buffer. I'll never understand why people make 18" barrels with mid-length gas systems...
  18. It really depends on your gas port size and location... What barrel are you using (length and gas system)?
  19. Loc-tite is your friend. Use the blue one (242).
  20. Sweet haul! I'm jealous.
  21. And there's the problem. How is a newer member supposed to know who's close knit and who isn't? Up until this point I thought this forum was just full of a bunch of good-hearted jokesters, not limited to some "inner circle" that could only make jokes. It's not like there were any personal attacks in the joke.
  22. Can you still do a CC chargeback?
  23. Your PMC and Winchester ammo aren't match ammo. the 1MOA guarantee requires the use of match ammo. You can't expect 1MOA from M80 spec ammo.
  24. Would you happen to have a postal scale by chance? I'm curious what the weight is with barrel nut. Thanks!
