Here's how I see it. We can be defensive and stand on our principles wrapped in the 2nd Amendment and shout "Not one more Inch". Keeping in mind that the 2nd amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear arms but not what type of arms. We already have gun bans and restrictions that are standing up in court. Or, we can be offensive and come up with a licensing system that protects our rights to own the guns we want. Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more. George S. Patton Read more at: https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/george_s_patton_125072

Would you rather enact a federal license now with a republican president and congress where we could get favorable rights or wait for a democratic president and congress where you will get gun bans.
-
From the article: By popular usage, however, the word "democracy" come to mean a form of government in which the government derives its power from the people and is accountable to them for the use of that power. In this sense the United States might accurately be called a democracy "To the extent that the United States of America has moved away from its republican roots and become more "democratic," it has strayed from the intentions of the Constitution's authors. Wow, this topic really stirred up a hornet's nest. Here's a couple of facts to consider: 1. America is a democracy and in a democracy, majority rules. 2. Every time there is a mass shooting, the anti-gun lobby gains more people. At some point, they are going to become the majority and then we are going to lose a lot. It seems a lot of people are equating the license with a gun registration. If you read the article, it said that guns could be traded between license holders without any FFL involvement or record keeping. That means the government wouldn't know if you had 5 or 55 guns. If, in the future, they showed up at your door to confiscate them, give them the 5 and keep the 50 to start the revolution.

That's a pretty cool idea. Here is the demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhLmewAV6rU -
I had to drink barium several years ago to scope out the intestines. They neglected to tell me it would run through me like a flash flood. Left the doctor's office and had to quickly find a gas station before I made a mess in my truck. Got a colonoscopy coming up in a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum. Also from just east of Dallas.

I've been running IMI 30 rouund mags for my sub-sonic loads and have had no issues.

As quoted above, for .308 and .556, there is just too much ammo on the market to save a lot of money. But, for premium ammunition in other calibers, there is a lot to be saved. Especially when you are talking about brands like Weatherby, and Barnes. And also when you are talking about big bore magnum rounds. I load 7mm magnum (not a particularly big round but the one I load) for a lot less than I can buy factory rounds. And you can't beat a custom round matched to your rifle for accuracy vs. a cookie cutter factory round.

I would say that I agree with him. Especially on the 100 yard limitation for a full powered load. I took this pig with a suppressed load at 65 yards. 208 gn Amax at 1056 fps. But I put it in his ear. A shot to the body cavity would not have dropped him.

If your looking for something with that much energy, 45 Raptor would be an option. You can build it for a little more than a 308 and get dies to reload.

I saw that in my inbox today. Looks really interesting and expensive at over $3,000.00.

Awesome job. Nice elk. Congratulations!

Latest news 59 dead, 500+ injured. They say the guy was a millionaire. If so, he had the money to own full auto. Why would a guy with that much money want shoot innocent people? It will be interesting to hear his motives if they ever figure it out.

The COL's could vary as much as .008. I'll get it set on one round and the next may be short or long. It is totally random. I use a digital caliper with an anvil on one side to measure. I rechecked the press. The ram has a slight side to side play but is solid vertically. The turret has a little play so that it can spin but i would think that movement would be pretty consistent from round to round. Like you said, there is not a lot of pressure seating the bullet.

I bought a Lyman Spar T press back in the late 70's. I used it for several years to reload pistol ammo and it worked great. it sat up for years until I got back into hunting and shooting, I dusted it off and started reloading rifle ammunition. The problem I am having is that I am constantly having to re-adjust the bullet seating depth. It just will not maintain the same length. The press feels solid with no slop in the turret. It does this with both RCBS and Hornady dies and all calibers that I shoot. All thoughts and insights are appreciated.

Howdy from a fellow Texan

Another Howdy from Texas East of the Pecos this time.

I check in periodically. Just been real busy at work and haven't had time to work on anything relevant. Lucky for me, I'm closer to Dallas.

Another welcome Texas. Thank you for your service.

Thanks. I do highly recommend the PA stencils. You can find them on sale for about $10. The problem is finding the paint. I think Aervoe has stopped making some of the military colors.
-
Here's what I did (before and after) with the Primary Arms Digicam stencil and Aervoe paint. The nice thing about the PA stencil is that it is flexible silicone and easy to clean.
-
Optics Planet has it for $3,289.00

Not to get off topic but I noticed that Form 5320.23 is for Form 1,4, and 5. Does anyone know if this is needed for Form 2 or what the requirements are?
