  1. Looks like a couple of "keepers" to me. Congrats! Sometimes, maybe most of the time, if you raise good kids, they tend to attract other good kids....see?
  2. http://news.yahoo.com/obama-us-not-relent-islamic-state-campaign-080929228--politics.html And here, for historic reference, comments reflecting the (I'm dreaming) world vision, underreaction and lack of leadership by the so-called "leader of the free world", again failing to recognize that there is, in fact, a war.
  3. OK, from an officially old (but still lethal, so don't fook with him) guy. Age 20. At work, got the message from a customer who came in. Followed on radio, then on TV when we got home. Everybody listened to Cronkite, of course. Guy was a left-winger all his life, but never let it show in his reporting. A real pro. Remember the grainy films of the assassination, and was watching live when Ruby shot Oswald. Watching a guy get murdered live on television was amazing and shocking. A visual impression? Everyone wore hats. Kennedy was one of the first to go hatless. Quite unusual at the time. Smooth transition to the Johnson administration, at least on the surface. Kennedy didn't like LBJ, likely drafted him as VP because his rich, NE Catholic ass needed the southern votes. Likely never thought that azzole would ever become president. LBJ was quite likely the worst result of the Kennedy assassination. IMHO

  5. Impressive. Formidable guy.
  6. Helium.....helium in the tires. Or maybe in legislators heads? They also have one of those in Germany, I think.....Dumkopf Driver
  7. I could only wish. No, I'm an antique. 10.5 yrs. WaNG starting in '61. Last job Armor platoon leader. Only wish I could play with an Abrams for a few hours. NG guys didn't even get the latest stuff we had in the early 70's. I think the only thing I'd recognize in today's army is the Ma Deuce and the 1911's, and I guess there aren't a whole lot of the latter in use any more. My training was all about whether we would fight the Chinks or the Ruskies.....how's that for antique? Like an old warhorse, the sound of cannon fire and machine guns still warms me little heart.
  8. I think Putin has my sense of proportionality. One bomb, 234 people dead. Russia has reportedly flown 2300 sorties in Syria since that. France has flown several hundred of them since the Paris attack. Plus they are bringing in the C. DeGaulle aircraft carrier. Not a huge air force or Navy, but they are serious to the extent they are able. U. S. reportedly upped our sorties from 15 to 16 per day. Obama said today that our "strategy" is working, but will take time. Looks like maybe France and Russia will have the problem solved before Obama gets off his ass and starts.
  9. Man, that brings back memories. Nothing like the sound of tanks firing main guns and machine guns in the morning. And doing it beats hearing it. Go Armor! I'm fairly close to JBLM (Ft.Lewis area) and I actually enjoy the 'copters, aircraft, artillery, etc. Poop on the people who bitch about the noise. I'm with you. Sound of freedom.
  10. I think the good news is it might mean any small vehicle under 26K lbs, EXCEPT a school bus. Lord, I hope that's it! The other option is anything she drives has to be under 26K lbs, unless it's a school bus, and then it can weigh more than that. Hoping that's wrong. Can anybody from MA clarify that?
  11. Update: Damn, I was correct! News says our idiot governor (Jay Robert "azzhole" Inslee) has stated that Washington will be one of about six states that will continue to welcome immigrants, regardless of their race, religion, or where they come from. He also said the states have no right to make that determination, as it's the Feds who do immigration. Help! He must be living in the same dream world as Obummer.
  12. Yeah, and Washington should have been right there between Texas and Wisconsin. Not with our dipshit governor. Just saw on the news that Obutthole has doubled down and intends to continue with his import of mooselimb camel jockeys from Syria. What will it take for that buttthole to get the message? My vocabulary is grossly inadequate to express my disgust for El Pres.
  13. A number of governors have done similarly. However, it remains to be seen what will happen when the Turd-In-Chief does his usual thing and just ignores the will of the majority and, for that matter, the law. This could get ugly. I'm hoping for a moratorium by Congress, but I ain't gonna hold my breath on that. Washington State has a Dumb-O-Crat for governor, and he's likely to welcome ISIS with open arms. I gotta move to Idaho......
  14. I agree, Shepp. The hope was not for our leaders to decide to act, but that enough of us would get off our fat asses and force the elected buttholes to do their job of protecting the country. Yup....more wishful thinking........
  15. Maybe if it gets worse - a lot worse - we'll get smart and keep those bastards out of our country. Although, I suspect a bunch of them are here already. So let's stop the influx, and weed out what's already here.
  16. That's a very nice looking job. I did two 308 lowers with the 80%Arms jig using a router. What kind of tool and/or jig are you using? I'm not the guru on these things, but I strongly expect to do more of them. The rear shelf was real easy to do, but I don't know why you would need to cut out more than you already have, so long as the fire control group fits in the hole and works okay, although I've never seen it done that way. I suspect I'd cut it out just because that's the way I've always seen it. I'm not big on re-inventing the wheel. My 80% lower did not have the rear area already milled out.
  17. Any truth to the rumor they are having a special bow-hunting season in the People's Republic of Californication?? Har!
  18. Welcome from Washington. I'm a long way from an old-timer here. Super place to hang out and learn. Above intro indicates a helluva good fit. Enjoy.
  19. I don't see anything that offends me....looks like free speech, kinda... Is it just me? So far my give-a-schitt-o-meter is on about .00005. However, my amused-as-hell-o-meter is right up there. Hahahahahahahhaha. Oh, and BTW, if you DO offend me, and that ain't easy to do, that's also free speech. I'm big on that! Go for it!
  20. Very nice. I especially like the grips with that finish...and the way the grip screws line up. Nice detail. Looks like it might just glide out of the holster on command. What holster are you using for that beauty?
  21. I had the same problem when I built my 80%. I had planned to modify an AR-10 bolt stop, per info from 98 on a thread here someplace. Turns out I had to take my rifle up to Mega on a bolt carrier issue. While there I was given a bolt stop that was being used in some rifles being assembled by Mega for another company. It was one of those, "take along one of those and try it" things. I did, and it worked super. I had bought three different DPMS bolt stops and a couple of AR-10 bolt stops, none of which worked. The one I got at Mega was just "taller", worked flawlessly. My rifle was an 80% lower and an AP upper. This is not an uncommon problem in the .308AR world. Wish I could tell you the brand name of the bolt stop, but I never asked. Maybe give Mega a call. They are a superb organization, and extremely helpful. BTW, my problems were in no way related to any Mega parts, although I did use one of their excellent barrels. They assisted me anyway.
  22. Likely confusion as to the word form??? Not likely a word describing a device, ie. a noun. More likely more of something, such as, "he pulled out ahead, and was forwarder than the other guy:.... Or, Joe kissed her nose. Bob kissed her boobs. Bob was forwarder than Joe. Yuk!
  23. Buy two of them......and let me borrow one.....PLEASE!
  24. YES! Request to join sent. That is NOT the first time I've been referred to as a miscreant. Could be worse. My 9th grade shop teacher once called me a hoodlum and a thug.
