  1. I don't think I could be talked into jumping out of a perfectly good flying aircraft. I am too old and stubborn.

    Great Music

Well it ain't Tennessee Earnie or Earnest Tubb, but to each his own! Maybe a little Glen Campbell or Rodger "King of the Road"?
  3. I never had that problem either, makes no difference what kind of anything ever made, someone has a problem with it, that I never ran up against, maybe I am just not sensitive enough to realize it.
  4. I agree rape is rape and is bad, even if it is with your younger brother.....
  5. I rarely shoot a mag till it is empty, learned that with my M1, didn't always want to hear that ping! when it kicked the empty clip out, where some hostile may be listening for it.
  6. Yep that sounds like a plan to me.
  7. a grip monopod would be better if the stud could be left in for a grip screw and not protrude out past the handle of the grip and the monopod removed.
  8. You really need a good shade at fireing points for using a spotting scope or any electronic screened device to monitor targets and to log shots with. That is why I oftendrive miles and pay good money to shoot from well built sighting in ranges, rather than shoot off the truck tailgate and a folding table out in a pasture.
  9. "The land of Misfits" , Well so much for political correctness!
  10. Welcome from my inner sanctum near poverty sinks in Comanche County owner of another LR308 DPMS Oracle. Where do you do your shooting?
  11. Welcome from the Grilling Texicans and others from the LSS.

  13. He always checked your prostate with his left hand on your left shoulder, right hand on your right shoulder.and a silly smile on his face?
  14. We don't need any beer, aren't we gonna invade Ireland? put the generator and ice machine in with the bedding and sleeping bags. I've gotta an idea......
  15. Center of mess,mass
  16. What do you mean that my 1975 Aero Commander won't be ready to go by Sept. 1....Hell, don't you know that is the first day of dove season? We have places to go and A$$holes to kill!
  17. You won't know for sure until you use the DPMS magazine. Clean the rifle again before you go back to the range and just before you go, maybe the day before break the rifle down, pull and clean the BCG a piece at a time check the ejector, extractor . Pull the buffer and spring, checking for burrs and wear. and when you go back lube liberly to point of wetting as you reassemble the parts, also swab the inside of the upper (except the chamber and bore!) with Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. and go to the range with the DPMS magazine.
  18. Big Ed290, belated welcome from Central Texas. I also have a LR308 Oracle, bought new in the box back in December 2014. You are on the right track. Where are you located? We have several regional forumns.
  19. Good work Planeflyer!
  20. OOPS! Sorry I got the wrong Dude, on the wrong thread. My first mistake today.
  21. So you only needed a good magazine to shoot a perfect course of 40 rounds? with the new DPMS rifle ......So you went ahead and ordered a gas tube that is for a Armalite carbine, and you have a rifle length DPMS rifle. Now why in the hell would you do that?
  22. I forgot, have you had the buffer and spring out of the tube, to check if itis clean and lightly oiled? did you have the bolt out of the carrier and oiled the gas rings and bolt? I'm just trying to help you prepare the rifle for a break in type of shoot.
  23. Yep,, get off the internet, oil up that LR308 and get out to the range with some168gr.. and and some Federal M80 and the original magazine first load 3 rounds and see what happens Now, did you buy this rifle new in the original box from a gun dealer? or from a shooter, why did you first try an aftermarket magazine?
  24. Just remember that the gas tube has to enter the gas key far enough too give the pressured gas volume enough energy to push against the bolt gas rings,to keep the bolt from unlocking prematurely and then cycle the BCG fully open and compress the buffer spring
