I'll make a couple of assumptions here since you didn't specify. This is a new rifle? First time out? If this is correct why in the world are you using cheap ammo for the break in? You just added a variable you could have eliminated by using quality ammo. How lubed was this new bolt and carrier? If it wasn't dripping wet with oil oozing out of every orifice it wasn't wet enough. You stated: Contacted KAK and Kurt Kosman, President, replied to my email; basically he assumed I was an idiot and whatever was wrong was my fault. If my above assumptions are correct what was wrong WAS YOUR FAULT and not the fault of KAK. You slapped new parts together most likely without enough lube to get them to mate smoothly and expected them to run perfectly. Today I’m at 350 rounds and the gun is running smoothly and 100% reliable now. Gee! Imagine that! After a break in period it works. KAK makes excellent products that many around here use. I'm sure they get tired of consumers complaining about something not working properly when a little common sense on the part of said consumer could have made the e-mail or call to them unnecessary.

What we often mean by "lube the hell" out of it is soak it in Mobil 1 overnight. Remove it from the oil in the morning and let most of the drips flow off of it. Slap it back in the rifle and go shoot. Don't wipe it off. You want oil seeping out of every space and orifice as your shooting. Take some oil along and if it quits seeping add more. These big guys need LOTS of oil to get all those new parts to mate together smoothly.

Hey mister watch it! I resemble that remark. Or at least I'm close 6'6". Even I have my scopes set at about where you are talking about. As can be seen by this old family picture. As far as getting the scope square and level to the rifle I do as many others have already said. Place rifle rest on table. Place rifle in rest and get it level using a wheeler bubble level. Hang a plumb bob in a well lit area and while the rifle stays perfectly level align the vertical crosshair with the plumb line. If that plumb line is slightly stretched and not touching the floor or swinging, it has to be perfectly level.

I just looked at the TN arms listing for that lower and the 2nd picture they have there is with it mated to an Aero upper. With that said, the TN lower is "Receiver Constructed of High-Strength Nylon 6-6 and Marine-Grade Brass inserts". Do you know for sure that the TN arms lower will mate with the Aero upper? Unless you know FOR SURE do some checking before spending money. No milspec in the 308 AR world and manufacturers do whatever they please with specs.

A good gunsmith that knows what he is doing will be able to headspace your bolt for you. You need to remove the ejector first.

For me it was mask and paint it.

You might get pointed to an already existing thread to read for your answers or get info right here. LISTEN TO THE GUY! The Mantra with large frame ARs is "Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit", heed it and you will be good to go. If this is a build from scratch rifle seriously consider getting the upper, lower, and BCG from the same manufacturer! There is no milspec for these large frames and any manufacturer can do anything they want with parts, at any time, and call it anything they they want. Getting those three parts from the same manufacturer (not retailer) will ensure that they all work well together. Aero Precision makes quality parts but with everything these days inventory can be hard to come by. Many guys here have used their stuff. Best of luck and hang around and read whatever interests you. your going to learn a lot.
