Keep this kind of thing up and we'll have to have a WI Lake Superior close to shore fishing outting. Are you running planer boards at all?

I seem to remember a suppressor on your 300 blk at the shoot. Get that out and pffft the coyotes. The neighbors will never know.

Yup! I'll have plenty of bullets loaded up for it by then. This thing is a hoot. When you pull the trigger you hear the click of the firing pin then pffft.

Before: After: Pictures taken in the same place just under different lighting. This thing is BB gun quiet with the 110 grain Varmagedon subs. 4.6 grains of Trailboss gets to 980 fps so I have a place to jump off from for more thorough load development. 4.8 grains hit 1092 and had a supersonic crack. Air temp. in the mid 30s. Supersonics of the same bullet through the supressor that were loaded for my AR did a 5 shot group in a quarter sized hole at 50 yards. I ended up adding 3 sections of rubber garden hose filled with #4 lead shot and plugged on both ends inside the rear stock to get a good balance with the 10" and over 1 pound worth of supressor on the end. Downside is it weighs 9 1/4# with supressor, but upside is the recoil is nonexistant, none, nada

Major malfunction there. At least they seemed to have the sense to get off the road.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Nine 10 round pmags to go with the 1 that came with my RARR 300 BLK. Scheel's has them in stock. https://www.scheels.com/p/magpul-pmag-10-ar%2Fm4-gen-m3-magazine/87375000619.html -
If you get the DB upper you may as well save yourself a ton of headaches and get the DB lower to match. Then you'll know for sure they will fit together.

Generally not but it has happened, and mostly during bow season. When it happens they are coming up behind me while sitting in my treestand, but it has to be with dry leaves down to provide the crunch.
-
These right here (hear). 5X hearing enhancement and 26dB noise reduction. Bought 2 pair with my birthday discount for my son and I. Wear them while hunting and hear better than with your ears alone. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1019751268

A strong NO. Trim to your 2.005 and let the cannelure come to where ever it comes to. Your final COL will be determined by what your rifle shoots the best, not where some groove is placed by Hornady.
-
^^^^ What he said.
-
You don't determine COL for best cycling. You determine powder charge and COL of reloads by finding out what the rifle shoots the most accurately. First powder charge, then COL as long as the bullet isn't jammed into the lands. That measurement is different for every rifle. A properly built rifle will cycle just about anything that is adequately loaded. Get the rifle built first, then cycling factory ammo, then start thinking of making reloads for it. In this buying panic, finding factory loads is tough and finding all the components for reloading is even tougher.

Getting my bunny fart rifle painted up this weekend. It will be interesting to see how quiet the loads for it are. When I built my suppressor I had my 308AR in mind as a possible rifle to use it on so its a bit of overkill on a Blackout. But can a rifle be too quiet?
-
Yup. It can be done if you are going to shoot them in a bolt action or single shot. You can use very fast pistol powders with high volumes that better fill the case like Trail Boss. The powders used don't generate enough gas to function an AR but with a bolt action you don't need the gas. The suppressor has less bang to muffle, and no BCG to clang back and forth next to your ear. Pull the trigger and pfffft.
-
Trailboss powder for bunny fart quiet supressed 300 BLK loads that will be forthcoming out of my RARR that is arriving at my gun pusher tomorrow. I already have the 110 grain varmageddons, primers and brass. This was the last piece of the puzzle I needed. These should last me a while considering the charge is somewhere in the 5 grain range, and each bottle has about 790 rounds worth inside.

Gun does not cycle; bolt release does not hold BCG

The best thing you can do is LISTEN! to what 98 tells you and do what is requested. He is the 308 AR whisperer. I would bet dollars to donuts that the buffer in your rifle is 3.250" long and about 3.8 oz. As 98 said it needs to be shorter, 2.50" long and about 5.4oz, IF you have a 7" internal measurement receiver extension. If the receiver extension is 7" inside length and whoever built the rifle tossed an AR15 3.250" buffer into it I'de bet they have the wrong spring too. -
Or this buffer right here. https://www.kakindustry.com/lr-308-parts/308-lower-parts/lr308-carbine-buffer-heavy

Hey! Whatchoo talkin bout there? -
Better you guys than us! You'll still have spring 3-4 weeks ahead of up here. I've got about 8-10" in the yard.
-
He's already met up with us at the shoot we did here in WI. Its all you southern boys we yankees have to get together with.

I've thought about going to our cottage and setting up a hub blind on the ice for a shelter with a small heater in it. Then shooting up to 850 yards at a target using the shoreline hill that is our frontage property as the backstop. The ice is thick enough to drive on and the snow isn't too deep yet.
-
At least by the sounds of it the shooting ranges should be open. Just not the one closest to me until maybe July.
