  1. For me it was mask and paint it.
  2. I'm sure @98Z5V will wander in here at some point. He more than anyone else has the knowledge you are looking for. You might get pointed to an already existing thread to read for your answers or get info right here. LISTEN TO THE GUY! The Mantra with large frame ARs is "Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit", heed it and you will be good to go. If this is a build from scratch rifle seriously consider getting the upper, lower, and BCG from the same manufacturer! There is no milspec for these large frames and any manufacturer can do anything they want with parts, at any time, and call it anything they they want. Getting those three parts from the same manufacturer (not retailer) will ensure that they all work well together. Aero Precision makes quality parts but with everything these days inventory can be hard to come by. Many guys here have used their stuff. Best of luck and hang around and read whatever interests you. your going to learn a lot.

  5. Its amazing how many people have waistlines twice as big around as their inseam is long.
  6. THIS YEAR SUCKS SO FAR Apparently people aren't shooting what they can't replace and the ranges are just deserted. So far things are even worse than last year.

  11. No you didn't. As i understand it you clamped the rings to the scope in what looked like being straight. Then clamped the rings to the upper. Then opened the rings and moved the scope. If the rings were ever so slightly out of whack when you clamped them to the upper they were still out of whack when you moved the scope. That is why the preferred method is to clamp the mount/rings to the upper first. Its easier to get it straight that way. Then mount the scope and make adjustments as needed.
  12. You noticed that too? Kinda looks like a Magpul.
  13. Yup, the link I posted goes to the Aero site where both of them are.
  14. You have an Aero Precision 308 AR upper. Nothing you have is remotely AR10. It may seem nitpicky but clarity of definition is hugely important with these big cousins because every manufacturer can make parts any way they see fit and very few aftermarket sellers know the difference. AR 10 only refers to Armalite products. As unforgiven said, Toolcraft works or why not an Aero Precision BCG since your upper is Aero? Other than the fact that in stock items are hard to come by. Here ya go. 2 models in stock https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-ar308/spare-parts/bolt-carrier-groups https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/bolt-parts/bolt-carrier-groups/ar-308-bolt-carrier-group-phosphate-prod84516.aspx?avs|Cartridge_1=AAK_30%2bCaliber%2b(xzzx308)
  15. I know you are talking about supersonic bullets but will these be run through a supressor? If so, Lil'gun will heat that thing up to untouchable levels in less than ten fairly fast paced shots. Been there done that with mine and my Lil'gun loaded supers.
  16. I found the link on the Grendel forum and figured people here might appreciate the heads up. I've got enough handloads to feed both my Grendels for a long time.

  18. Once its finished he takes it to a drag strip and does a 7 second (I think) 1/4 mile.
  19. This one reminds me of my 375 Socom thumper. I wasn't sure how much I would like the stock when I got the rifle but I do like it a lot.

  21. I have 3 words for you. Lee bench prime! Mine works fantastic and you'll never have a hand cramp from priming ever again. Look it up!
  22. The rod was probably designed to be used before the forward assist is installed. It wouldn't surprise me one bit that some well educated design engineer had a dumbshiit moment and did that without thinking of uppers with them already installed.
  23. ^ How in the heII would you steer that? Lean and pray it turns?
