  22. The A-10, now there is a classic. Back in '74 I designed the reconstruction of a ramp (apron) at the Fairchild plant in Hagerstown Maryland where they were doing the final assembly of the A-10. Interestingly that was the same plant, and same ramp, where B-17s were assembled during WWII. They went into service shortly thereafter so it is an aircraft that has been serving the military for more than 40 years. Now there is a sound investment!
