Have to work tomorrow so will not get to shoot it till next weekend , got to be able to pay the piper. That gives me a week to strip down and oil it,swap out the stock for a Magpul PRS LITE Precision Buttstock and add a Precision Armament Compensator(didn't like the factory option)

For using the Lee case length trimmer I knew about the drill set up( hand or drill press),Lee zip trim and the cutter with ball grip. This the 8-32 threaded cutter adapter mounts in a varity of power case prep stations. It's not only a fast way to trim cases with less effort then the earlier mentioned ,but you can deburr and chamfer the case immediatly.

I think that's from Saturday's shoot. The one below is from Friday, seems I shoot better in the rain( home turf advantage?) To paraphase Sir Issac Newton, If I can shoot further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. This was with @JBMatt 300Win. Shooting the 6.5PRC 147gr, we were getting out there and scaring it but other then clipping one of the green flags no one had any luck with my rifle. Gunpusher John showed up with his 6.5PRC in Ghetto Gold and after a numbe of shots managed to make a mark( looks like the bullet hit sideways) I think @JBMatt has a picture. I think the bullet is starting to tumble, using the numbers from the actual Chrono reading and ballistic calculator , the 147gr bullet is going subsonic just before hitting 1600ft. That's JBMatt's chrono and a game changer, you now now the muzzle velocity of each shot and can factor that in when deciding if that was a factor in bullet impact location.

I can't speak to price but a couple things to consider. Dials are nice as batteries are never an issue. I've been very happy with my Mitutoyo caliper that are +15 years old. There has been a flood of off shore digitals so that can be hit and miss. My and a friend of mine expericence with some of these is that the accuraccy seems decent enough if +/1 a thou is good enough. The only thing to watch out for is they seem to chew through batteries,even when not in use. So if going this route, take the battery out if not being used for any length of time( my rule is if next time is more than 3 days battery comes out) and of course keep a spare battery. A cheap way to check them is to use a 1-2-3 block , a keep one specifically to check the calipers every so often to confirm the digital is tracking correctly.

I had a chance to tour a WW2 German and that was pretty crude as to the living conditions. I can only guess that a 1920s sub would be worse, being a submariner especially then take a special type of person.

People don't seem to talk about modern cars and the built in 'technology' Things like OnStar or similar features, microphones can be turned on remotely/location tracking etc. Wired magazine( back in 2015) did an interesting article on car hacking and how one could remotely take over a car. With new cars using 'fly by wire' vs direct feedback and wifi update there are a number of weak spots. Even though is know,not a lot has been done as far as security to prevent this by the auto companies.
