  1. You might want to consider Kevlar... cast iron might kinda like putting the frank and beans into cast cast iron Dutch oven
  2. Welcome from BC
  3. Love the set up and the 2 tone scheme Fall shoot I'' have a couple side chargers, unfortunately it's cause our ARs can't come out and play for now. So A couple Canadian companies have made de neutered upper/lowers allowing us to transfer all are AR bits to rifles we can take out and play till we get this crap sorted out. The charging handle can be set up either left or right and easily swapped and you can try both set ups
  4. Stay safe brother
  5. Safe less likely to kill you in your sleep...
  6. Gun safes are like toolboxes... they abhor unused space.
  7. Welcome from BC
  8. I bet @unforgiven knocks off a 30 minute lunch break in 4 1/2 minutes
  9. If I had access to det cord that would be my go to. Now I may have or have not been present when a friend discovered some det cord in back of his truck. A very versatile product, it clear fallen trees blocking 4x4 trail and produced firewood
  10. Interesting character, I like how he deserted( mid 1941) to join the Canadian Army and joined my grandfather's regiment and while in England the USA joined the war so he transferred back to the US Army. He served with distinction winning the Silver Star, plus then a sergeant, next took part in the Allied invasion of Italy and fought in the Battle of Salerno and the subsequent Battle of Anzio. It was at this time that the U.S. Army discovered Millet's 1941 desertion; he was court-martialed, convicted, ordered to pay a US$52 fine, and stripped of his leave privileges. Only weeks later, he was given a battlefield commission to second lieutenant. So it only took the army bureaucracy almost 3 years to figure out he had deserted( to fight Nazis) then returned and served with distinction.
  11. That's were metric is handy when used against those not familiar with metric, drunk or in a loud club. 4" = 10CM ( trick is to mumble the centimeter when speaking) 6" = 15CM 8" = 20CM
  12. Seems like a job better suited to the use of tannerite
  13. Seems to me witnesses would be pretty scarce and a little bacon in their shelter, bears will oblige
  14. Open the umbrella pull up a chair and cooler with ice and beer and just stop for a minute or two... you're make the rest of us look unproductive
  15. Try wobble trap, regular trap you know how clay will fly. In wobble the clay comes out in virtually any downrange direction and angle of elevation so a better test of reflexes and getting on target quickly
  16. Well when you pull on it it gets longer...
  17. Nut in English is gender neutral but if you say it in Spanish or French then it's assigned a gender...
  18. Welcome from BC
  19. Availability is pretty good up here and for #8 for trap it runs about 35cents Canadian per I'm sure with a bit of looking and bulk buying get it down to 30-32cents per. 32 cents Can = 26 cents US
  20. No sex swing but the breaking the action to eject the rounds I'd get that curl of smoke coming out after the empty shell.
  21. I don't think even you would be capable of developing 'beer goggles' that would make those "women" less dangerous then the Medusa herself or not kill the person wearing them.
  22. So Sunday one of my ranges had a come out and try trap day. Now I've shot clays in the back 40 but I'm not what you'd call a shotgun guy, this was definitely a new experience for me. I got a better understanding of how it works, what works and shooting from five positions. First thing I quickly learned was a 870 truck /bear country gun is not ideal as my early scores showed. I was given a BT-99 to use and once I stopped lifting my head when pulling the trigger there was a noticeable improvement. It gets pretty addictive, fortunately #8 shot is way cheaper the shooting slugs Had the most fun with what's called the wobble trap, rather then lunching in a set pattern they can come out in a number of ways.
  23. There is a island between mainland and Vancouver Isl. called Texada and well populated by hippies and deer. The deer turn out to be a bit smaller then average due to all the grazing in the hippie gardens. Rumor has it the meat has a 'sweetish' flavor to it but haven't tried any myself. Local coyotes here are in the 35-50lbs range and recently been a number of coyotes attacking people( joggers in particular) in and around Vancouver area. Downtown racoons are about twice the size of rural racoons here in BC.
  24. Expired canned chicken starting to look pretty good now...
