Non canalure bullets like the ELD and Matchking (lots of others, just naming 2 I use quite a bit) scream "LEE FACTORY CRIMP!"

The only way to fly. Pretty much replaced most if not all of my crimp dies with the Lee over the years.

Armalite barrel + DPMS bolt headspaces ok, still safe?
Albroswift replied to H_0_D's topic in Building a .308AR
I think the OP was using the Faxxon as a comparison. You are allowed to have more then one barrel I think, in fact, may be required... -
Funny powder, looks like little cheerios, only can fit about 9 oz in a typical 1 lb container. Use it in 45-70 light loads. Going to try some in 308 w/ 200 gr bullets.

Just knocked out 1000 rounds of 9mm on the big blue, little over 2 hrs. Spent 1/2 hr troubleshooting the indexing system first, getting worn out after a couple million rounds. Recess with the spring and detent ball was getting a little oversized, shimmed it true. Get a call into Dillon, bet they will send me a new head no questions asked. Even If I have to pay, still best press out there. Bought it new in 1996 +/- Rock Chuckers are a more recent addition.

Moderators, please move to 80% lowers? Thanks-- Al

Hello, Dave, and welcome to the forum. Stumped the boys so far it looks like. Interested to see what they come up with. Al

+1 on the orange spring in the 7 inch tube.

Seems big enough that's probably not the problem. Double check the port lines up with the gasblock. I have a bore camera that works sweet for that, but there are about 900 other ways to confirm.

I didn't start keeping track until about 3 or 4 years ago, whish I had started on DAY ONE!

Get a little here, little there, 25 years later you have almost everything you need.

When things quiet down and components are back in stock you will enjoy handling for it. Lots of good 6.5 data out there. Have 2 ladders loaded up myself just waiting for the next trip to the range. 123's and 147's. Don't remember the data offhand but it is probably one of the Hodgdon magnum powders, 4350 or 4831, use those in a lot of recipes.

I must have quoted his quote.

That doesn't hardly make sense. Please elaborate

You can have a custom tube made, I think the company we use is White Oak Armament, if you don't want to fuk with the barrel

Bolt not going back far enough to engage bolt face

Bolt not going back far enough to engage bolt face
Albroswift replied to boostless's topic in Building a .308AR
@boostless Easy way to confirm is assemble without spring, put an empty mag in, pull the CH back. If it locks, it's the spring. Also with spring out good time to make sure the BCG is not contacting the "ears" of the receiver. Had the same thing (too long spring) with a Tubbs in a 7" tube. I went to the point of compressing the spring 100% on a dowel and measuring, 1/2" longer then the tail of the 2-1/2" buffer. Was what I thought to be the correct spring for that application, apparently not. You will likely have some growing pains with the short tube on a large frame, but it will work with the right port/ spring/ buffer combo. I ended up with a Sprinco orange spring and a 5.6 oz buffer. Also running a Seekins AGB and gas port dia .078. Runs like a top. -

cheaper than dirt vs Texas
Albroswift replied to shooterrex's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Yes, no charge until it ships. I keep getting emails asking me if I want to cancel my order. (So they can sell it for 3X as much) Don't even need it, have plenty, but not going to cancel until the price goes back down. Then they go on the CTD list. -

Ordered 1000 556 green tip on sale about 4 months ago for less then half what it is going for now, and free shipping. They keep sending me emails saying back ordered new ship date ... Meantime they send out an email "New Special Shipment Coming In" "Get it sooner then your backorder if you order right now!" for guess what, 3 times as much. Sportsmen's guide. Last thing I'll ever order there. -
If you can believe the internet the ATF has started confiscation of these kits from the end users.
