Finally got the Joker out to the range today, ejecting about 2:00, locks back and ejects 100%, unintended binary trigger. Seems to happen to me more then once. I can replicate it without a round, trigger and hammer back, release trigger hammer falls about 99% of the time. Think it is an Anderson in there, maybe I put the one I took out of the last build that was double tapping, don't think so but who knows. Anyway, gassed about right, no AGB to adjust 10-1/8" tube .079 port .750 journal, 9mm Odin adjustable buffer think I put all 3 tungsten weights in it 7.4? oz.. Anyway, new trigger and good to go. EDIT: Put the FCG into the SI jig, no issues. Put it back in the lower, binary. started checking, appears my 5D jig and drill bit is putting the holes just a little bit off, looks like the culprit. Got a CMC drop in on order Also got the Apocalypse out for the first time, 357 Sig longslide Glock 24. KKM barrel a little tight but shot super accurate. Never needed to fit a glock barrel before so sneaking up on it.

what do you guys do to maximize space in your gun safes?
Albroswift replied to wwlefty's topic in General Discussion
Just added a "Monster Vault" under the bed. Took them a couple months to get it out, worth the wait. Not as secure as a heavy safe, but pretty much top of the line for lightweights. -
Bought a box from this guy on 1911 forum, brass as advertised seemed like a good deal. about 800 for 66 bucks. My box was 70% brass FC and 30% nickel FC. All looks once fired. No stretch marks, dents, or bulges. https://www.1911forum.com/threads/cheap-308-brass-price-reduced.1040940/#post-13518371

We did that 6.5 with an 18" BA barrel, wouldn't even budge with Armalite parts, got all the way down to an H buffer and a ar15 carbine spring before we got it to run. Like the barrel was designed for small frame recoil. Drilled it and put the right stuff in anyway. Just wasn't right.

How does that work with glock mags? Do they alter the angle of the grip but keep the actual well at the glock angle?

Varget powder and Hornady 178 ELD-M load data
Albroswift replied to Steve crawford's topic in Reloading
Yep, that's why we use them. I hadn't looked at the BC of the match for comparison. -

So side note, why do you think the ELD X out performs the ELD M ? We run the X in the 300 Weatherby, never tried the M. -

I see Hornady A-Max or BTHP M1A data for Varget but not AR specific or ELD X/M . -

Tuning assistance needed - FTF, FTE and more

Nice job on the waterboarding. 98 is the gas port whisperer, but my comment addresses the last 2 photos. Looks like you have a very large amount of distance from the bolt stop to the bolt, but I assume by the last photo the BCG is not contacting the ears. My builds usually only have 1/8" from the bolt catch to the bolt face. I don't have a conclusion about cause. Second thing, factory ammo? I did have issues using my bolt/ lever gun loads in my first AR 308. Too much pressure at the port. Even with all other things correct, still had issues until I went to AR Comp powder. I have had good success with a KVP 2.5" buffer and orange spring, but I think it is 5.6 oz and also running AGB. -
New guy, first large frame AR, waterboarding info
Albroswift replied to Argos1923's topic in Introductions
@Argos1923Great job on the waterboarding, got to be the best yet. Agree gas port sounds small, and the symptoms reflect that. Welcome to the forum. -
I looked at one of those a while back, wasn't for sale fortunately.... Nice shooter.

I like to just de-prime with a universal, wet tumble, dry, size, and either go into a vibratory tumbler to remove the sizing wax (Imperial), or don't do anything if I use one shot.

Cleaned for sure. I have never in a million rounds trimmed 9mm. Have you started rounding up components?

Got er done... Noreen forged receiver, Toolcraft NiB BCG, Armalite gas block and handguard, RRA front sight and carry handle. Sig barrel, Radian short throw ambi, custom tank brake. A few parts chipped in by some of the brothers, some good tips, as you can see, put them to good use. Tactical Gray over Snow White over Graphite Black Cerakote.

Solid advice, went 3/ 18 minute flash coats at 170, stripped the stencils, and then a 2-1/2 hr cure at 175 Base coat Graphite Black, Then Snow White and Tactical Gray. -

I've been on the receiving end of several of the brothers' generosity, just keeping the karma somewhat in balance. All good. -

Albroswift replied to Albroswift's topic in Member Builds
Yep, center of cam to port (EDIT + .600). Double checked that after trying a 9-3/4" carbine tube that was 5/16" too short. That's what got me spinning in the first place. (that and Armalite saying their 6" hand guard was for AR15/ AR10) Looked at some posts from 2-3 years ago Willbird 11-1/8" See your post 11" on the button, Jtallen83 10-7/8" , my 11-3/16"... Last WOA order 11-1/8"...
