  1. Mmmmm. That second gal... Words fail me.
  2. Welcome to the forum! You got a nickname, MATT???
  3. Refurbished isn't equivalent to "once broken", often picky people return perfectly functional new optics for cosmetic blemishes.
  4. Got any pics of the flash hider?
  5. The 168gr FGMM has been 19.99 a box for a couple weeks. Right now the 19.99 per box (for 175gr) is for any quantity if I'm not mistaken.
  6. That's 'cause they wanted to be the round that obseleted the .308 and now there's an even better performing round than their pet. Sucks to be them, but at least .308 keeps getting cheaper to shoot.
  7. Haven't run a JP gas block yet, but they generally enjoy a good product reputation. I'd buy one.
  8. The whole gun is moving quite a lot,not just the barrel. It won't be an issue.
  9. There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary math, and those who don't.
  10. The idea has actually been discussed here before. Whether or not it has merit depends on what you are out to accomplish. If it's working for you and improves your accuracy, there's nothing to argue against you doing so. However, broadly generalizing that doing so will make everyone more accurate just isn't the case. Nobody is trying to discourage you from experimenting, but having every Joe Shadetree try to weld up his bolt and dremel it back down would have dire consequences, not to mention the potential liability. Folks here are trying to give you food for thought, or a balanced perspective on something we've discussed before. Lastly, we really are some abrasive sonsabitches sometimes, it's 'cause we're far too accustomed to one another to be bothered by it. Hang around and you'll see for yourself.
  11. Alright, since the buffer project is going to have to wait for free time to become available, it's time for a "Barbie" teaser. There you have it, a very sensible straightforward lower, ready to be transformed into a magical rifle that propels fairy poop by lighting a unicorn fart. I can't wait!
  12. I missed the part where anyone besides you expressed it in those terms. Furthermore, @survivalshop is right on the money as usual. While you may well have 0.001" dimensional clearance to the bolt carrier bore, you aren't guaranteed the alignment for clearance, whereas with gas rings that factor is irrelevant.
  13. I ran into the exact same thing with the same ammo some years back.... It was really ugly.
  14. My Aunt shot her toe off and won $1000 in the lottery the following week. If I felt that the outcome were directly attributable to the action taken, I might try it myself, but I need my toe and $1000 isn't that much money.
  15. The fusion shot like crap because it's soft tip, but don't take my word for it. Load a mag up, fire one shot and then cycle the next unfired round out manually and look at how beat up the following round got on the way into the chamber. When you see how deformed it can get, you'll understand why the inconsistencies. Soft tips aren't for ARs.
  16. Suppressed would be a nightmarish scenario, outside of an adjustable gas block in the system.
  17. Fusion is soft nosed right? I don't shoot anything other than match or A-Max tipped ammo.
  18. Welcome to the forums, glad to have you!
  19. I'll pass. Having seen firsthand the warping that results from welding, not something I'd care to do in the pursuit of accuracy.
  20. It's a great barrel, thanks for supporting forum sponsors as well!
  21. My guns are my children, my children are just tax breaks so I can buy guns with my tax refund. It's vicious how it works....
  22. I went and bought a store branded lower from my gun pusher. Highlander Armory It's a really nice lower, I'm pretty sure it's made by a local AR manufacturer in Statesville NC. Pics and build info on my first "Barbie gun" to follow!
  23. You would think that after spewing dozens of mouthfuls of drink onto my computer screen and phone, I would learn not to drink while reading these threads.....
  24. What he's talking about changes from time to time, what he's thinking about never changes. Titties.
