  1. I left my whole stash of subsonic with Scuba Steve. If you end up needing some, you can check with him. I also gave some to Tom to reverse engineer....
  2. Running a lighter buffer won't really help that, it'll just create another issue to solve once your gas port issue is resolved. If your gas port is undersized, it's pretty easy to remedy.
  3. Look again brother, there's a Nomex suppressor cover on there.... That's some straight up MA TEN action right there!
  4. I won't wander as much as a drill bit will, but you'll still end up oversized...
  5. Welcome from NC.
  6. Date formats vary by country of origin. Americans tend to be familiar with and use month/day/year, whereas in Europe and other such places, day/month/year isn't uncommon. So our friend is correct, outside the US 308 Day could also be celebrated on August 30th. And why shouldn't we celebrate it as often as possible anyway? Twice a year is twice as good as once annually....
  7. Fantastic! Now just toss a couple in front of Tom while I do the dirty work!
  8. I know someone who can do that! Everyone check their pockets for a shiny objects....
  9. Well he definitely had the "Bore" part right... *yawn*
  10. You're exactly right, which is why I didn't....
  11. Well well well... So much for "old hat", huh? I had a suspicion there was some hyperbole in play....
  12. that's what.... oh, never mind....
  13. Oh yes. Kids don't need a college fund, soda crackers and creek water will get me by just fine.....
  14. I made only this claim.... So you see, the nature of MY claim was regarding what my shooting skills LACK. With that said, I'll gladly burn your ammo shooting for a 1-mile hit. Smiling with every round sent downrange....
  15. I'll be the very first to admit, I got nothing for a mile. Out of all the attempts I made on the Fall trip, I got one 'maybe' hit. Heck, I'm not even proficient at 1,000 yet, although the Tikka makes it easier.... You got all the mile skills in this duo, I won't even kid about that.
  16. Oh no, not by a long shot, as a matter of fact AND definition, you haven't done this by a mile. You placed 1 (and only 1) shot as intended. Demonstrating control over the shot placement requires a second shot (at minimum) to establish repeatability. So when it comes to proving your point you've actually literally missed it by a mile...
  17. LOL We're going to look up the definitions of "control" and "fluke" when I get there. You clearly have no grasp of either concept.... If you can't repeat it, it's not controlled. Prove control over 5.3" of shot placement at a mile by any two successive shots, and the $100,000 is yours free and clear. I'll be on hand for 5 days to witness it first person, and I'm even rooting for you, I want it to happen. 5 days is plenty of time to get it done.... Spicy indeed!
  18. Humor me and prove it wasn't a fluke, and the money is yours.
  19. I do the same, I look at my scope and make a correction without thinking about it. If I'm spotting for someone, that's a different scenario, you gotta be able to give them MILS. You for instance, I could give you either because you can convert it too and I know that. After doing it a while it's just second nature...
  20. I don't have anything that'll reach a mile, I'll be spotting for whoever can at that point. 5.3" just to answer your question, and I'll give you $100,000 dollars if you can control 5.3" of difference at a mile under ANY circumstances.
  21. Depends on how precisely you round. Just as an example, I don't calculate off of 1.047", I use inches out to 500 and that's a reasonable margin of error and calculates quickly. Past 500 i use 1.05 which is an error of .003" per 100 yards. Max error at 1k is 3". That's less than .3 MOA error, definitely smaller than what I'm capable of controlling as a shooter.
  22. I know, I know.... "But Matt, math is HARD!" Of course it is, everything that is worthwhile in life is difficult somehow. Buck up and deal with it snowflake.
  23. There's no shame in having to have math skills. Having to remove your boots and gloves to do your MIL math, now that's just embarrassing.... That's when the MOA sniper is gonna take you out, when you're counting fingers and toes!
  24. MIL math is mostly multiples and divisions of 10 or powers of 10. It's the MOA shooters that are rocking the real math prowess.
