  1. I do the same, I look at my scope and make a correction without thinking about it. If I'm spotting for someone, that's a different scenario, you gotta be able to give them MILS. You for instance, I could give you either because you can convert it too and I know that. After doing it a while it's just second nature...
  2. I don't have anything that'll reach a mile, I'll be spotting for whoever can at that point. 5.3" just to answer your question, and I'll give you $100,000 dollars if you can control 5.3" of difference at a mile under ANY circumstances.
  3. Depends on how precisely you round. Just as an example, I don't calculate off of 1.047", I use inches out to 500 and that's a reasonable margin of error and calculates quickly. Past 500 i use 1.05 which is an error of .003" per 100 yards. Max error at 1k is 3". That's less than .3 MOA error, definitely smaller than what I'm capable of controlling as a shooter.
  4. I know, I know.... "But Matt, math is HARD!" Of course it is, everything that is worthwhile in life is difficult somehow. Buck up and deal with it snowflake.
  5. There's no shame in having to have math skills. Having to remove your boots and gloves to do your MIL math, now that's just embarrassing.... That's when the MOA sniper is gonna take you out, when you're counting fingers and toes!
  6. MIL math is mostly multiples and divisions of 10 or powers of 10. It's the MOA shooters that are rocking the real math prowess.
  7. I'm versed in both. As long as I know which one I'm using, I genuinely don't have a preference. I started with MOA and stuck with it for consistency's sake.
  8. @Rsquaredand I are the resident "gear snobs" (because Nightforce optics and other expensive tastes) and we both run MOA optics. You'd be loved and accepted with open arms on the MOA side.... It's those knuckle dragging sister shagging mouth breathing mountains of cumulative inbreeding damage over there on the MIL side that will give you grief. @98Z5V
  9. That looks delicious! I'm drooling on myself... more so than usual anyways....
  10. ^^^ This post right here needs to be written upon stone for the ages to come.
  11. It's fine, it's fine. I know what you meant... No big deal. Don't you worry about a thing. It's all good. 🦽
  12. Uh huh. You done gone and messed up my friend! If I was you I'd find myself two extra sets of eyeballs and sleep with all six of them open.
  13. I beg to differ sir, I have owned no less than 3 DPMS LR-308 (DPMS never made an "AR-10 after all) platforms, and none (zero) had a chromed bore for the bolt assembly. Having owned ~6 large frame AR platforms over the last decade or so, I don't recall a single one having a chromed bore in the BCG. I'm curious as to what exactly makes the lack of it "cheap" to borrow your expression. I've got over 8,000 rounds of wear & tear on a BCG and no functionality issues have arisen. I have to confess I don't understand what makes the chroming valuable to the efficacy or performance of the plaform.
  14. Glad to have you, welcome to the forum!
  15. Done. Thanks for the heads up!
  16. It hurts to see you lose a friend Greg, and for the world to have one fewer good people in it. RIP sister, you've done well, we'll see you again.
  17. And we have those ugly lonely old librarian ladies with their boobs drooping into their socks, who have no life outside of their jobs...
  18. Welcome to the forum! We're overjoyed when our little corner of the web empowers someone to build a functional gun.
  19. This, and the fact that for the price of 1 Atlas that can be used on 1 type of interface, you can buy 5 Magpuls specific to each rifle/interface you wish to equip. It's a no-brainer for me.
  20. Only change 1 factor at a time, so you know which factor makes the difference. Also, I'd advise moving away from the IMI, the other stuff you listed is pretty good and should work fairly well. Cheap ammo isn't consistent enough to tell you what's working and what's not in terms of accuracy improvements. What's your barrel twist?
