  1. Y'all excuse me over here, I think I got some sand or something in my eye... Sorry for your loss Rob, Marshall seems to have been an amazing dog.
  2. We've done 450 with pistols at night, and gotten hits. This is the next logical evolution!
  3. I learned the hard way that when you give @JBMatt free pistol dope, he'll proceed to make you look like an amateur therewith. I don't do that anymore....
  4. 3.14 = pi to all you cave dwellers that were too cool for school. It's the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's radius. "Matt, what are you getting at?", I hear you asking.... This means 1 critical thing and 1 thing only; that Tom's shooting skills have come full circle!
  5. Go heavier on the oil, dripping wet is fantastic. Keep doing what you're doing and be patient, these bigger ARs require a bit of break-in.
  6. This. In order to confirm that a slam-fire is the actual issue, you need to eliminate a sear issue as the source of your problem. The other potential issue you may have is a firing pin that's binding in the forward position.
  7. Oh man, that does my machinist heart some serious good right there.... LOL
  8. There are two domains of authority concerning NFA items: the IRS, who is responsible for determining the lawfulness of ownership, and the issuance of tax stamps, and the BATFE who is responsible for the enforcement of the relevant NFA laws on behalf of the Federal Government and the IRS. The direct answer to your question, is no they do not. However, that will not stop them from detaining you on the grounds of probable cause and holding you until you can clear yourself with the relevant authorities.

  10. That looks fantastic! I kinda want to shoot it myself...
  11. There's a TSA guy in Charlotte that's been pretty regularly the guy on duty when I was passing through. He's taken to grinning at me as I come through and saying "So, what did we add to the inventory this trip?"....
  12. They actually don't. During the whole COVID charade, multiple cities and localities across the country with dwindling or struggling police forces made it very clearly known that they won't respond to all calls, merely ones of specific severity.
  13. Very sorry for the loss of your Dad, may he rest in peace.
  14. You most definitely can, it's just not advertised nor common knowledge. Put in a call to the owner Frank, and if the range isn't already reserved, you'll get range time for a fairly meager fee.
  15. Virtue of Defense, it's an outdoor range owned by a veteran and a great place to go to practice all types and disciplines of shooting. The link @Armed Eye Doc posted is their website.
  16. Whoooeee! Somebody just got smacked with the gauntlet....
  17. Sounds about right....
  18. Welcome from just outside Hickory, NC!
  19. If you want to go visit VOD in Old Fort sometime give me a holler, I'd love to meet up for some shooting and some grub!
  20. You are correct sir, it's very important to compartmentalize and not irreverently refer to anything as a "still" that doesn't produce Grade A moonshine.
  21. LOL My Doc says you can get regular just by taking small doses of laxative... Seriously though, you're way overdue for a happy and fulfilling relationship, I can't wait to see that happening for you.
  22. A very wise man once told me that "normal" is just a setting you find on a washing machine.
  23. We share in the sorrow of your loss Mike, may the memories of him live long and well.
  24. "Dear Diary, Today Tom-ass nearly apologized to someone. Who is this pansy, and what has he done with my friend Tom?" I love you buddy!
  25. I know exactly what your issue is because I've had it and corrected it myself. Your buffer is too long. Take the rubber pad off the back, reassemble the rifle and do a manual function check. You'll find that it will lock back and function correctly because your buffer is now shorter and therefore has more rearward travel. You need a shorter buffer of the appropriate weight.
