FA's 18.5" SS medium weight profile is a bughole barrel, I'll guarantee you it will shoot every bit as well as the person behind the rifle. That half pound isn't going to be very noticeable on the overall scale. I'd be thinking about the total weight of the rifle overall if I was going to carry it any considerable time or distance. Nitriding isn't going to give you any considerable gains on the corrosion resistance of SS in practical terms, unless for some reason you just like to store your rifle in a large puddle of saltwater for weeks at a time. You really can't beat that barrel, my personal opinion is that it's the best thing Fulton Armory ever put in their inventory, in terms of barrels. Ask anyone on this site who has bought that barrel about it, and I guarantee you won't hear anyone who has been disappointed with theirs.

Some people just have a higher tolerance or higher resistance to voltage. I've leaned into 480 volt 3-phase leads a couple of times on AC units and been able to pull off it. It hurt like crap, but 110 in comparison just feels like sticking your tongue in a 9 volt battery. Don't know how many amps I was pulling, couldn't work up the nerve to do it again with the multimeter in the circuit.... :binkybaby:

There are videos on Youtube for how to convert the larger Berdan cups for the smaller Boxer primers... Essentially you enlarge the existing cup and then resize the cup to the smaller primer with a piece of brass tubing. If I can find it I'll post up a link soon....

I used to have a SA 1911 GI exactly like yours seasprite, that thing would shoot and cycle ANYTHING. I swear you could've packed an empty .45 casing with sand and a mudball and that thing would've shot it and cycled reliably....

I thought about doing exactly that when I had that beastly 24" deal from DPMS, but the thought of all the dirty looks I would get for the interrupted fluting held me back.

That looks like the DPMS forearm.... I don't remember which model it is that has the 4-railed handguard but I think it was the SASS.
