It's not a dumb question at all. I use the way the safety operates to verify that my rifles aren't stored with the firing mechanism under tension. If I pick up my rifle and can engage the safety, I know I need to verify an empty chamber and take the tension off the firing mechanism. If I can't, I know I will have to cycle the bolt before the rifle can be fired. It's a double-safe standard, if the safety can't be engaged, it can't be fired.

I'd be willing to bet dies are difficult to obtain, and pulling the lever on the sizing die would tire you out pretty quickly too.

I'm not running a heavy buffer, but I do have a Tubb CS spring, I've never had any problems with it. I can't speak for Clint or what his reasons for not liking the CS springs were, but I believe him when he says he feels the Armalite spring is the best one you can get. Myself, I don't intend to throw out my CS spring until it proves to be a liability.

I have nothing but the highest regard for anyone who wears the badge and gun and does so with integrity and professionalism. Our LEOs here are a outstanding group and you do yourselves and your profession credit. My thoughts and prayers for your safe return home go up daily.

Believe me, if you're disappointed, you should have no trouble selling it.

FA's 18.5" SS medium weight profile is a bughole barrel, I'll guarantee you it will shoot every bit as well as the person behind the rifle. That half pound isn't going to be very noticeable on the overall scale. I'd be thinking about the total weight of the rifle overall if I was going to carry it any considerable time or distance. Nitriding isn't going to give you any considerable gains on the corrosion resistance of SS in practical terms, unless for some reason you just like to store your rifle in a large puddle of saltwater for weeks at a time. You really can't beat that barrel, my personal opinion is that it's the best thing Fulton Armory ever put in their inventory, in terms of barrels. Ask anyone on this site who has bought that barrel about it, and I guarantee you won't hear anyone who has been disappointed with theirs.
